DEAR YULETIDE 2018 WRITER,

Hello! Happy yuletide! Thank you so much for offering any one of these fandoms, I'll be excited for anything you write me, so don't be intimidated by anything you read here. My letters are usually fairly long and detailed, as I hope to cover enough ground to give you as much info and as many options as I can think of in case you are not sure of what to write, but feel free to ignore most of this letter, but the DNWs if something sparks you that’s not completely like what I prompted. I just want you to feel inspired and comfortable!
*NOTE: some of these sections are a lot longer than the others (mainly From Dusk Till Dawn: the Series) and I don't want you to think I'd much prefer that fandom over the others. Sometimes when a fandom lives so long in your brain, you have a lot more to say for it, but I honestly would be delighted with ANYTHING you'd write for me. I selected these fandoms because I've been craving fic for them, so I really would be happy to get anything for any of them! Nothing here is a placeholder fandom and a lot of the requests have been requested before.

I mostly use this journal as a private place to post thoughts I’m not comfortable posting on my tumblr, which is where I mostly hang out, making graphics and reblogging things—if you choose to visit, it’s good place to snoop to get a generalized glimpse at what I like.

In an effort to make my letter as skimmable as possible, here are some links to help guide you to whatever interests you and help you skip the rest.

↳ General Things I Like: I am a very emotionally oriented person. I love exploring a character’s thoughts and feelings, what it is that makes that character tick and make the choices they do. I’d rather have purely character thought-piece over a complex well-plotted fic with no emotional heart or depth. I love relationships: their dynamics, how they support one another, how they relate to each other, how they interact, where their wants and needs match up, where they differ, how their different parts interconnect or pull-apart.

I adore friendships in all forms and I love exploring what it means to be friends and the bond between characters. I love emotional history and how that affects a relationship dynamic between characters. Friends-turned-lovers is a favorite trope of mine, as well as love/hate, enemies-turned-lovers dynamics. I love snark and banter and flirting, but I also love new relationship awkwardness, relationship negotiation, and getting-to-know-you bonding. For any relationship to happen, I want some connection at the base before it turns romantic or sexual. I love developing relationships: relationship conflicts after the characters got together, trying to figure out how to make things work, some things maybe not working at first, temporary breakups. If you’re dealing with a poly-relationship, I’d love to see how the characters deal with that new dynamic and how they adjust into their new roles, how the dynamic changes (for better or for worse). I love unlikely friendships/romances, complicated relationships, group dynamics, partnerships.

I also love fucked up, varying-degrees-of-unhealthy, too-close-for-comfort relationships. Codependent relationships, obsessive relationships, completely-fixated-on-the-other relationships. I love when a character is willing to literally let the world burn, should the world try to come between them and the person they love (romantically or platonically), choosing their partner above anyone else. I really love when this is all a choice, rather than conditioning (though I do love when this closeness is born from abusive homes and situations, with the two characters banding together, them-against-the-world). Two-halves-of-a-whole-person type of relationships are my weakness—I love dynamics where the other can’t function without the other and opt for self-destruction in the face of separation (via either substance abuse or moral/character disintegration), even leading to suicide ideation. Them being equally obsessive and fucked up, and extremely invested in their relationship is what I live for. Utter devotion is key.

I also enjoy something in between the two extremes—characters relying on each other and needing each other, making sure the other is okay, taking care of each other, especially in regards to trauma and/or mental illness. Basically I love messy, codependent relationships with dysfunctional people who love each other and are terrible to each other sometimes, but also healthy, loving, mutually supportive relationships, where people take care of each other and communicate with each other, and everything in between or in combination.

I really dig domesticity and what makes a home a home, and how being a family to each other plays into that and how the characters come together in that way. I adore makeshift families and kid!fic in any form (so long as the children are written realistically and not cute accessories—I love reading about the difficulties of parenting, how it changes the relationships, characters reacting to being a parent—especially if they came from an abusive home). I love cooking and doing chores, and quiet breakfast scenes over coffee or tea. If you want to add pets, that would be wonderful! (I love all kinds of animals, but cats have a special place in my heart).

I love porn and wouldn’t mind a PWP piece, if that’s where your heart takes you, but I’d prefer it to be emotionally anchored; not necessarily romantic, but something with a connection and a reason for it happening beyond two (or three!) pretty faces.

↳ Some of my kinks include: trust (I have a huuuge trust kink that can usually make most kinks work if the basis comes from how intensely two characters trust each other and their willingness to give themselves to the other person in every way, and vice versa), angry sex, fighting-that-leads-to-sex, powerplay, D/s (that’s more focused on taking care of each other than humiliation), switching/no set sexual “roles”, topping from the bottom, service kink (getting off on giving pleasure rather than receiving), oral sex, licking, fingering, dirty talk (please no humiliation), praise kink, teasing, hair-pulling, body worship, breast play/nipple play, sensory overload (being overwhelmed by sensations, being touched immediately after orgasm), biting/marking/scratching, begging, public sex, heat-of-the-battle sex, frantic sex, jealousy and possessiveness, bloodplay, voyeurism, bondage, somnophilia, size differences, partially-clothed or mostly-clothed sex, handjobs, rimming, frottage, intercrural, double-penetration, masturbation/fantasizing about the other before getting together, mutual masturbation, drunk or high sex (both the emotionally messy, dubcon-y, bad idea kind and the sloppily affectionate consensual kind), rough sex, characters who kink on violence and danger (gunplay, knifeplay, breathplay, exhibitionism, etc.), hatesex, scar kink, sex for comfort and solace, dressing and undressing, messy badly-negotiated (or unnegotiated) sexual desires, inexperience, sexuality exploration, kink exploration, first times, clothes kink (suits, uniforms, gloves, boots etc.), neat characters being disheveled for once; casual characters cleaning up nicely, clothes-sharing, choosing clothes for the other person as kink/foreplay, sex in other places than a bed: on tables, against walls, on the floor, on a chair, in the shower, making someone come without touching their genitals, messiness (sweat, come, blood, menstrual sex, etc.), competence kink (characters kinking on the skills set of another, i.e. Seth’s admiration/fixation on Richie cracking safes), oral fixation (smoking, fingersucking, shotgunning, etc.), sex where emotions are mixed, or difficult to acknowledge, or emotionally hurtful to acknowledge, sex that doesn't heal anybody's deep emotional wounds, moody messy melancholy sex.

I’d really love all of this to be paired with tenderness and sweetness, just little touches here and there: hand-holding during sex, forehead touching, petting or stroking hair, forehead/face kisses, snuggling and cuddling, nuzzling, hugs from behind, neck kisses, scar kissing. Lots of kissing in general is lovely—kissing all over the body as foreplay, kissing one’s partner in surprising places (i.e. a character’s feet, or the back of the knee, etc.). I love the “we like each other so much that we can’t stop touching each other in any way” trope a lot. Sharing food, sharing clothes, sharing beds. Sleep related things in general: comfort after a nightmare, falling asleep together, one character watching the other sleep, waking each other up for soft lazy morning sex. Characters feeling safe and cherished by the other. Simple casual intimacy is fantastic and very much appreciated.

↳ Random and miscellaneous things I love:
  • backstory, future fic, unreliable narrators, outsider POV adding new insight, outsider POV in general, snapshots, missing scene fics, character studies, missing scenes, codas, alternate canons, semi-alternate universes, and canon divergences, and/or slight changes to canon, “what if” AUs
  • epistolary fic, or a “five times something happened” type of fic, or a “five things you didn’t know,” fics that start in the middle with flashbacks, play with format, if you want
  • happy endings, bittersweet endings, downer endings—whatever works for your story: no happy domestic fics with sudden swerves into death fic, but if something is generally melancholy to begin with, go with the downer ending
  • road trips, small towns, traveling, a sense of place, in between moments and in transit, a strong sense of a setting—I really love the aesthetics of being on the road, having to stay in crappy motels and living in and out of suitcases
  • communicating without words
  • established relationships/friendships, and domesticity with slice-of-life that details their routine or daily life
  • the intimacy of living together for a while, or people learning to share space—people sharing household chores or cooking food for each other, people having silly arguments with each other over routine things or watching movies together
  • awkward wooing, or when people can’t say things in words so they say it in action
  • slow burns, UST, people reconnecting again, getting back together, learning to love each other again, pining for each other
  • reunions, a strong sense of history between characters
  • intense protectiveness, will-kill-for-you-without-thinking protectiveness—or the flipside, will-lay-down-my-life self-sacrificial type of protectiveness
  • trust—either people who trust each other or people with trust issues
  • surprising intellect from unsuspecting characters
  • small but meaningful moments
  • bad weather, quiet rainy days, autumn, the ocean, the desert, the woods, libraries, characters reading to each other, sense of time passing, the change of seasons, being snowed in
  • autumn specific: taking a walk among falling leaves, or enjoying a hot drink together, cooking together, carving a pumpkin, full moons against a cloudy sky, apples, candy, watching horror movies, use of costumes or masquerade balls, mystery and intrigue, noir aesthetics, magic
  • halloween and all the traditions it entails: trick'r'treating, parties to the macabre of seances and focus on the dead
  • found families
  • complicated relationships and internal conflicts—I like relationships where not everything is clear cut between people, when conflict stems from personal issues or clashing, rather than something external, where there’s angst and anger between these characters, but also genuine love and fondness
  • awful people being tender to each other, terrible people who don’t know how to love, or trying very hard to be good to each other (with some or no success)
  • hurt/comfort of ANY KIND—illness or wounded or just having a bad day, any kind of physical or emotional bad stuff happening to characters (either the main point of the fic or in the background/stemming from canon events), and characters looking after one another, especially tending to injuries, patching the other up, assisting with a drug recovery, to helping each other cope with PTSD or loss, helping them day to day—just a person taking care of someone as a practical way to show love
  • darkfic of any kind—psychological mind games, body horror, creepy obsessive claustrophobic dynamics, erotic horror, desperate broken violent lives of crime, break-it fics (unhappy or unresolved endings are okay!)
  • focus on mental illness or trauma, such as panic attacks, character adjusting to each other’s needs, messy coping mechanisms and “bad victim” traits
  • exploring physical disabilities (losing sight/hearing/the ability to a speak)
  • irrational ugly emotions, like jealousy or resentment or paranoia
  • claustrophobic and isolation stories, be it physical or emotional isolation; apocalypse settings, post-apocalypse settings, zombies or otherwise, themes of isolation
  • angst: self-doubts, guilt, shame, nightmares, fears, self-destructive tendencies, alcohol/drug abuse, character-appropriate self-harm, suicide ideation
  • dark romanticism, like necrophilia as an expression of grief or clinging to one's love one's body parts; heavy gothic atmosphere
  • monsters of any kind—vampires, werewolves, merpeople, witches, ghosts, humanity as monstrosity, the “monster” being more human than the “human”, the interplay between where monstrosity begins and humanity ends, struggles with monsterhood; I love human/monster pairings where the human is fascinated with their otherness and cherishes their monster partner
  • characters who aren’t sure how to “people” properly, characters who aren’t good at being “human.” Inhumanity, especially when love is demonstrated or expressed differently, but still love
  • horror themes: body horror, eldritch abominations, haunted houses, restless spirits, people turning into monsters, cannibalism, undead people (vampires and revenants mainly; I do not care for brainless zombies unless in apocalypse settings), turning into a monster, serial killers, etc.
  • psychological horror, being driven to madness, because of anything: scientific research, love/obsession, being tortured/haunted/possessed, etc.
  • body horror through transformation, or going through unusual changes, al la cronenberg style body horror, eroticized body horror
  • fairytale themes: retellings, use of fairytales as a structure, or a fairytale structured story, darker takes on folklore, fairytale logic
  • reincarnation or soulmates, with the relationship feeling old and constant, or the messy complications that come with being soulmates, “wrong” soulmates, character reliving the same time loops, losing each other and colliding with each other and missing each other completely, past lives, epic-across-time stories

  • ↳ DNWs: I don’t like radical AUs (unless specified), like coffee shop AU or college AUs. I have nothing really against them, but I prefer to read about characters in the canon setting.

I prefer not to read about excessive abuse, but I understand it’s inclusion if it’s part of a character’s backstory. I like reading about the aftereffects of abuse, of trauma, but not the actual traumatic events in detail. Torture or anything further than canon typical violence.

Extreme underage, especially with adults is deeply uncomfortable for me. I am okay with young-ish teenagers (14/15) experimenting with each other, but with my age differential ships, I’d prefer the younger character to be at least sixteen and no romanticization of the dynamic and acknowledgement of the inherent power dynamic at play.

Mentally ill or neurotypical characters treated as evil or terrible—it’s fine if they're experiencing ableism, but I don't want the whole fic to be about that.

No deathfic unless the characters die or have died in canon, or a villain is being killed. Referring to the major character deaths that occur in canon and exploring those after effects is okay, but otherwise, I’d rather not read it. I don’t consider it deathfic if someone dies and then comes back in the same fic.

Miscommunication as a plot point. Cheating/infidelity. Character bashing, ship bashing; if you don't like a character or a ship, please just keep their inclusion minimal, but don't remove them from the story entirely, especially if they're plot relevant.

My squicks are: parental or cross-gen incest (sibling or cousin incest is totally okay), bestiality (xenophilia in terms of sentient monsters, on the other hand, is encouraged), a/b/o, knotting, breeding, watersports, inflation, scat, sounding, or most hardcore kinks, vore, humiliation (sexual or otherwise), dehumanization, ageplay, 100% in D/s roles or D/s AUs, and rigid top/bottom roles (I prefer switching! But if you have a top/bottom preference for certain characters, that’s okay, I just rather it implied in the fic that’s not all they do), animal cruelty or animal death.

Non-con is a hardline trigger for me, so I’d rather avoid it unless it’s part of a character’s backstory (I’m okay with dub-con though—either messy and fucked up stuff with one character taking advantage of the other, or “we all got drunk and had sex together, whoops”).

    P R O M P T S

    The First Purge (2018)
    Characters: Dmitri, Nya
I went to see this film by myself on a day I was really low, which may seem like a poor decision, but I loved how angry this film was and I also fell in love with Dmitri and Nya. I just want to see so much more from them! I'd love anything that tells me about their history, pre-movie. I am fascinated that Nya was part of his gang until she broke free and became an activist. I also wonder if Dmitri ever had those same aspirations? Tell me about how they fell in love then fell apart. I'd also love anything about them that focuses on them post-movie! I was so disappointed to learn that the show in this franchise was not a continuation of this film and I just want to know what happens to them now that they know why the purge is really happening and what they do. I would love to see them both at the head of an underground resistance.

The Purge franchise is often hit or miss for me, but this movie really took the political message and brought it to its logical conclusion and let it be the driving force of the narrative, which really felt so relevant to the current climate in the US. I am fascinated with the world building that surrounded the setting up of the social experiment and I loved the scene where people were getting interviewed and offered more money to actively participate. But even more so, I really love how both Dmitri and Nya view it as something to fear and be suspicious of, but react in different but at the same time, similar ways. This whole movie rests on the pillars of each of their narratives that intersect and run parallel to one another, which is why I just wanted to know so much more about them as people and as people in relation to one another.

Dmitri is my everything. I really love the noble demon archetype and he is a fascinating take that is so informed by the culture in which and place he grew up. I would love to see anything that explores the duality of how he is arguably doing harm to his neighborhood for personal gain, but at the same time, gives back to his community and ultimately chooses to protect it, with his life if necessary. I would like anything pre-movie that shows how he became the crime lord he is today, but also anything that explains how he became so competent to the point he is essentially a one man army by the end of the film. His complex morality is really one of my favorite things about him and I’d love to see his headspace, his justifications, how his worldview was formed, how he created his rules by which he was going to live his life. Dmitri wants what Nya wants for their neighborhood, but he can’t shake his own sense of realism that he can’t be optimistic and I really how they are both foils and mirrors, so I would love anything that explores that. Did Dmitri ever have the same aspirations as Nya? Was he an activist that got burnt out and angry and gave in to his own pessimism? Get inside his head and give me Dmitri’s story.

Nya on the flipside is so full of passion and fire, so unafraid of most things, a firecracker that will walk into a crime lord’s complex and give him the what for. I love her so much. The film implied that she wasn’t always on the straight and narrow, so I would love to see more of that history and what made her change, what made her evolve into the person we see in the film. I am fascinated how she is a community organizer and her relationship with the neighborhood that so many people trust that she has their backs, despite her age—I would like to know how she came to be in that position, especially since it seems like a lot of people do not know her past or her history with Dmitri. Why did she choose to hide that? I would love to know more about her family history and how she ended up raising her brother, Isaiah, and why the two of them seem to be on their own now. I really love their dynamic and would love to see more of that, especially them trying to care for one another.

As you probably guessed, I ship Dmitri and Nya so very much. I am a sucker for old flames who still have feelings for one another, who yearn and pine, but there are legitimate issues between them that they can’t exactly overcome. At the start of the film, it’s clear both Dmitri and Nya still feel strongly for one another, but neither are willing to compromise themselves or the lives their lead in order to be together. It only takes the experiment to bring them back together again and form a united front because, for once, their morals are in complete alignment, which carries them through the end of the film. I would love anything about their relationship! How they met, what their relationship was like when they were together, all their firsts, the inevitable drifting apart and breakup, and their current future. Were they childhood sweethearts? Was their breakup a slow descent or a messy separation? I’d love to see any little moments between them in their past, especially Dmitri teaching Nya about how to handle weapons, but also would like to see how they functioned after they were broken up in the community before the purge.

If you’d prefer to focus on the future rather than the past, I really would love to see where they go next, what happens after the events of the film. I am still very disappointed that the new series isn’t about them as this film is the perfect lead-in to that, so I really would like to know how they’re faring in a world where the purge is an annual event, knowing exactly why it exists. If you want to write about them heading an underground resistance and support system for those most vulnerable, I would love you forever.

It’s understandable if anything extremely political isn’t your cup of tea or stressful to write, so in that case, if you want to make the purge a zombie apocalypse instead, I would not be adverse to that at all. Or if you simply wanted to write me smut, these two are extremely good looking and I do wonder if they had any encounters after they broke it off, if they kept swinging back to one another, so if you wanted to write me fic about them being messy and sleeping together, then Nya or Dmitri disappearing in the morning, I’d love that.

From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
Characters: Richard Gecko, Seth Gecko, Manola Jimenez, Santanico Pandemonium/Kisa
Ah! The show of my heart! I'd love anything you'd write me for these four: backstory fic for Kisa and Manola, both individually and together, backstory fic for the Geckos growing up, AUs where Manola lives and comes along for the ride. In terms of Geckos, I'm very much open to incest and would love to see anything that explores their die-without-out symbiotic desperate codependence from any perspective. I'm also open to poly dynamics with Kisa and Manola, and would honestly adore an AU of S3 where Manola lives and she worms her way into Seth and Richie's affections. She and Seth have similar personalities, it'd be interesting to see them bonding through sparring as Richie and Kisa work through their past.

Seth/Richie is my OTP of the show, so anything you write for me for them would be greatly appreciated and adored. I love both Seth and Richie so much—together and individually. It’s the ship of my dreams—two messy, fucked up codependent brothers so twisted around the bend for each other where nothing actually can come between them (except each other), the pair of them growing up as two pieces of the same whole, not actually complete without the other, a matching set. I love their coded language of mottos and catchphrases and secret handshakes, I love their banter and their bickering, I love their love of film and film references. Their shared history of violence and abuse is so important to me and how I view them and how they were shaped. I love the fact that Richie killed their father for Seth, to keep Seth safe, to save both of them from more abuse and I love that Seth never fully knew, yet still commemorated the act with a tattoo that covers his entire arm—wearing his heart, quite literally, on his sleeve. There is so much for me with these two that so many things would make me happy.

From the ground up, I’d love a pre-series fic that focuses on them coming together in an incestuous relationship—how they grew up isolated and depending upon each other. I have my own headcanons for how this happened, but I’d love to see a new, refreshing take and always open to exploring new avenues for how Seth and Richie come together. I’d prefer the focus to be on fraught their relationship is and how desperate and clingy they are to each other, and for that to be equal between them—they both show that in different ways (Seth is louder, more action-driven and Richie is more internal, and quiet in his love), but I don’t want to see a situation where one loves and sacrifices more for the other or where one is shown to love the other less. Uncle Eddie was one of my favorite secondary characters and any use of his would be welcome, I’d love a fic that utilizes Uncle Eddie being the one to raise them post-fire and how they feel about him as they grow, or even an OPOV fic of them from Uncle Eddie’s POV as he watched their fucked up relationship develop and as he comes to understand it.

I also really want to see someone else’s take on how their dynamic grows as they become these legendary criminals that everyone’s heard of. I’d like to see how they build themselves up into these dangerous, terrifying bank robbers that even culebra bigwigs know of. I want an exploration of how they built their legend from the ground up, how they took the Gecko name from something that the criminal community derided to something they respected. I’d love to see a fic that showcases the legends and stories that get passed around about them, or something that shows the truth behind the public perception of them. I’d be interested in an OPOV fic from the perspective of the FBI hunting the, or the intake officers or the psychiatrist that evaluates Seth when he’s caught and imprisoned—is the fact they’re incestuous in their files, does the law know or even consider it? I know some of this must take place while Seth is married, so I just want to caveat that I really adore Vanessa and I’d love to see her involved or featured in some way. If you don’t want to include her or don’t like her, that’s fine, but please be kind to her—just mention her she’s someone Seth cares about, or write around her, please.

S1-era stuff set when Richie is losing his mind due to having visions of Kisa and the demons she makes him see would be fantastic. I’d love more exploration of that, with Richie trying to fight for his own sanity and control, especially if he uses Seth as an anchor to his sanity and humanity, and uses Seth to ground himself—physically, mentally, or emotionally. Maybe when Richie looks at Seth or grabs on to Seth, the visions go away. Maybe Richie feels closer to himself when Seth is kissing him or inside him or just holding him down or holding them close as they sleep. I’d love a missing moment or missing scene from that time, focusing on either Richie’s POV with emphasis on hos Seth makes him feel safe, or an exploration of Seth’s POV with him taking on this new role of caring for his terrified brother and scared of what’s happening to Richie and feeling in over his head and out of his depth and unsure of how to help—so he clings to his own fairytale he spins for himself and Richie called El Rey.

God, anything set post-s1 and during their separation would be amazing and very welcome. But for some starters, I’d love Seth having nightmares about Richie or hallucinating him while high on heroin or in withdrawal—I love the angst of Seth seeing Richie and unable to get him out of his head no matter how hard he’s trying to snuff him out with drugs and alcohol. I’d love an exploration of Seth’s instinct towards self-destruction in the face of separation from his brother—I’d be okay with suicide ideation here, I almost encourage it and would love the thought that stops Seth is that Richie isn’t dead, so there’s still a foolish sort of hope that keeps him clinging to life. Or I’d love some kind of body horror dream sex with culebra!Richie, emphasis on how Seth’s brother is a monster now and how a part of him doesn’t care and is actually into it. Seth must have kept scratching at his bite wounds and putting his fingers there for them not to have healed in three months. I’d love perhaps a messy fic where Seth masturbates while sticking his fingers in the puncture wounds, or something that explores the thought that heroin is a replacement for the venom that Richie never gave him, that Richie never turned him or chose him.

Or something exploring Richie’s POV would be all kinds of amazing, since s2 was kind of lax on that. I’d love the emphasis to be put on how he thought Seth didn’t want to be with him anymore—the “we’re done” scene comes to mind, especially Richie’s face afterwards—and how that was re-emphasized throughout the latter half of s1, so Richie breaks it off with him because he thought Seth may be better off without him, that Seth wanted to be “set free,” even though Seth’s last minute turn around suggests that wasn’t the case—but it happened too late. I’d love anything exploring Richie trying to move on from Seth by throwing himself furiously into his own ambitions, becoming kind of cold and driven, but grieving him as well. Or something that explores his long-simmering anger and building resentment at Seth having failed him and not believed him, and how that was never fully resolved.

I love Kisa so much, she is my absolute favorite, so feel free to include her in this, especially when it comes to her being the catalyst that caused the separation between Seth and Richie, but not the actual reason they broke up—or how Richie is trying to use her as a new partner to help him move on and both of them acting in roles they don’t really want or fully feel, but it’s what they have for the moment. If you want to explore how Kisa is like Seth but not like him at all, and how Richie reacts to that, I’d really enjoy that—but if you don’t want to include her in the fic, that’s okay, too; just no character bashing or demonizing her for “breaking up the boys” as I see them at fault for their own issues, Kisa was just the catalyst.

Anything exploring the fact that Seth was the first person who Richie fed on in reality would be lovely. Based on the in-show mythology, culebras feed on the soul and consume parts of the person they feed from, which means Richie fed on Seth’s soul—go wild with that. I’d love something that explores the intimacy of Richie carrying around a piece of his brother’s soul or Seth’s soul becoming part of his DNA literally, or an even more intense expansion on the concept—maybe they end up with a messy mental connection because of that, even when separated from each other? Maybe they’re bound through their souls now. But really I just love fucked up angst and intimacy stemming from that act.

Fic set during s2 would be great as it’s honestly my favorite season in terms of their relationship—them pining for each other while acting like they don’t care at all and they’ve moved on is one of my favorite aspects of the evolution of their dynamic. Anything involving missing scenes from the season focusing on their inability to communicate ending up with them having rough, angry sex—exploring how they feel drawn to each other bodily and sexually, but refusing to acknowledge it intellectually or emotionally. I’d love something that showcases how they still fit together perfectly, work together seamlessly, but there’s still that emotional wall between them that they have to overcome. Anything that shows their anger melting for melancholy tenderness that aches from longing and hurt would be sweet.

I’d also love to read someone’s take on how they come back together in the aftermath of s2 as well—how do they adjust to life as bank robbers turned collectors with a home base and crew? Or what happened to Jackknife Jed’s? Did they run the truck stop for a while before they became collectors? How do all these changes affect them and their relationship? How does forced closeness make them confront all that’s between them? How do they change with each other and learn from each other again? I’d love to read Seth adjusting to Richie being a culebra now and honestly becoming fascinated with Richie’s culebra face, scaled body, or his mind control powers. I’d love for this to be explored within the confines of a sexual space (i.e. Seth wants Richie to use his mind control powers on him in a D/s consent play space), but if you just want to write Seth touching Richie all over and exploring his new face and new body in a show of intimacy and physicality, I’d love that.

I love them in s3 and how they’ve come back together, but everything is so fraught and tense because their comfortable life they thought they had is shattered and now they run the risk of losing each other again causes them to become even more intense and clingy with each other. Remember how Seth thought Richie was dead in 3x09? Remember that walkie-talkie conversation? I’d love anything with Seth choosing to run towards Richie instead of the church or anything that explores their PSTD post-s3 at having nearly lost each other forever—Richie’s time in Xibalba or how Seth almost committed suicide via Amaru to be with him. But most of all, I love the introduction of shadow selves and shadow!Richie especially. His obsession with Seth and how he was going to drag Seth into Xibalba with him, to his manhandling and control of Seth, to his tying Seth up and openly leering at him, pressing his body close to Seth’s—all of that hit my buttons. I’d love maybe an AU where Shadow!Richie comes back from hell instead of real!Richie post-s3, or Shadow!Richie sticking around longer even after 3x06, or even just Richie’s headspace after living with an extreme ID-y version of himself in control of his body, or Seth’s attraction to a more openly violent and dangerous version of his brother that was willing to do dirtybadwrong things to him.

This is a vague prompt, but I’d love something that explores the legend of the Geckos, maybe playing on the hero twin mytharc, but with more of Geckos becoming legendary in their own right, even among culebras. I’ve been watching American Gods lately so I don’t exactly want a fusion, but I’d love the idea of Geckos becoming immortal legends from the stories people tell about them? Or something about their bloodline being special (callback to Carlos’ ‘you got a little bit of Lucifer in you’ line). Or something just a bit fairytale and mythic about them—perhaps something focusing on their connection; there’s a scene in S2 where Richie gets his powers, then cuts to Seth suddenly being able to see all the culebras in the bar and their true faces, if you need inspiration. Anything with them sharing powers from the “gods” in terms of being able to see and to take action as the show described would make for a really excellent fic.

Branching off this, I’d love anything that explores Kisa’s status as La Diosa and the mythos around her. I’d be interested in a story that explores the reason Kisa is so terrifying to the culebra community is because she holds the devotion of the people and captivates their belief, so it lends her power and authority; it doesn’t matter that she rejects it, it’s still hers to reach out and grasp. Also Kisa said she was a child of prophecy and born at the end of the sacred cycle, I’d love to see more of that backstory and what that means for her current status, and how Malvado and the other lords sought to defile her fated purpose. I’d also love to somehow link this to her identity as Santanico Pandemonium and how her status as both Sacred Whore and Divine Mother shapes her identity and also stifles and smothers her, and she seeks to escape both definitions. But the legend of both La Diosa and Santanico Pandemonium haunt her and shape who she is in a myriad of ways. I’d love anything exploring her identity issues that stem from that.

I’d also love anything fairytale/myth-esque for Kisa/Manola, their dynamic and backstory lends so much for this, such as the Beauty and the Beast elements to Kisa potentially going on an Orpheus-like quest to bring back her lost love. I’d love anything that explores how Manola feels about Kisa’s history or how she feels about Kisa being La Diosa. Manola is such a grounded presence that is so separate from anything Kisa has known, yet emboiled in culebra society somehow--she exists on the fringes and it’s a fascinating thing for Kisa to have that in her life, a person who just sees her as herself.

In general, anything hurt/comfort-y or Geckos protecting one another during a job, or exploring Richie setting the fire and killing their dad for Seth and Seth’s flame tattoo, especially his choice to extend it to his throat, over Richie’s bite marks—or how they keep choosing one another, over and over again, can’t live without each other; all of that is good, I’d love anything with that. As always, all of these can be Gen, if you’re uncomfortable with incest!

As for Kisa, I ship every permutation of Richie/Seth/Kisa, but the OT3 is my true love. I am fascinated with how the mythos of the show is created around them all being mythic figures that don’t exactly live up to the expectations and are messy and human underneath the layers of performance and lore. They are the core three of the show and I’d love anything that explores that: slow burn future-fic where they come together after Richie turns Seth and Kisa has rebuilt culebra society, or further along the lines, or a post-S2 AU where Kisa decides to stick around and help them run their empire, or keeps coming back to them and finding them comforting or giving Kisa a sense of family, which she’s been seeking for most of her life. A place to rest her weary head, so to speak. I’d love anything that explores her POV of the Geckos as a unit and how their level of fierce devotion must terrify her on some level given the shape her abuse took and how worship and devotion looks to her and feels to her. I’d love anything about her watching them and learning to understand the language they speak in, and in turn, they learn about her as well.

Seth and Kisa’s dynamic is one of the storytelling gems of the show. I love how they went from enemies to saving each other’s lives and being genuinely concerned about the well-being of the other! I would honestly be happy with just more interactions with them, any fic about them being friends and bonding would be wonderful--but I also ship them a whole lot and would love something regarding that tension there. Maybe expand on the scene where he lets her feed on him (the camera just cut away! I wanted to see it up close and personal!) and how it feels now that Kisa has tasted Seth’s soul and saw inside him; that is a deeply intimate act and I’d love to know what she saw and to know if she told him about it. They keep getting caught in these situations where they’re raw and exposed and share things with each other that can’t be replicated. I’d love anything that explores the bond that comes from Seth helping Kisa kill Malvado and him witnessing their exchange. They’re such similar people and I love how Kisa sees through him, but by the same token, Seth starts to see through her too. They both offer each other advice they’re reluctant to take, yet trust each other implicitly. There’s so much richness here to explore.

I often feel robbed by Richie and Kisa’s dynamic because S2 was so rich for them, but then in S3 there was a lack of interaction and honestly, I always wanted to see what happened after S1 in terms of them coming together after Kisa invaded his mind, mentally assaulted him, and ruined Richie’s life by making him the same monster as her. He very much did not want to go to Mexico at first--does he resent her for making him kill Monica? For invading his mind? Does he get over that? HOW does he get over that and come to forgive her, and continue to want her around? I’d love to see her teaching him how to be a vampire while he teaches her how to be a human in the modern day, while also teaching her how to be a criminal. I’d love to see more of Richie having no idea how an actual romantic relationship works and pulling tricks he’s learned from movies and media, or watching Seth with Vanessa, and falling short. I’d love to see anything exploring their mental connection and how Kisa must have taught Richie how to do it, and she must have learned it from Malvado. Or anything exploring their strange friendship and dynamic where Kisa quite literally recreated Richie in her image to create her perfect champion, yet still resented how he fell short by being his own person, but also her quiet affection for him; they both symbolically set each other free, but a part of them still circle back to each other. In S3, Richie kept tabs on Kisa, yet kept his distance, I want more about his growing understanding about what she needs and vice versa.

I’D GIVE MY FIRST BORN FOR A POST-S3 AU FIC WHERE RICHIE ENDS UP TRAPPED IN XIBALBA, AND KISA AND SETH MUST RESOLVE TO RESCUE HIM.

But also a post-s1 AU where Seth goes with Kisa and Richie and how that changes things. I would love to see Seth being jealous of the Richie/Kisa relationship and wanting to insert himself in the middle, and Kisa trying to win Seth over because she can win Richie over to her side the more she gets Seth to like her, and Richie trying to cope with the force of natures they both are, similar people with similar tempers and tactics, while Richie has to keep up. Honestly, just play with the weird complicate mess between all three of them that kind of situation would bring.

My kingdom for Kisa gen-fic regarding anything: her backstory including her family, how she came to the temple, how the temple evolved over the centuries until it became the Twister, her dynamic with Malvado and how he shaped her, her relationship with Carlos (my only request is that you don’t demonize Carlos; they both loved each other and it went sour), her relationship with the ladies in the Twister, the time after S2 and before S3, that gap of time she had to build her fight club, but also probably walked the earth trying to come to terms with her life post-everything she’s endured. Fic exploring her trauma and PTSD and her recovery is very much encouraged, if you can stomach it. I’m not asking for issue-fic, but I’d love anything that explores the messiness of recovery and how it’s not fathomable what she’s been through. On a lighter note, I’d love anything that explores Kisa’s sexuality and her lack of issue with it. She is so comfortable with that part of herself, when other parts of herself don’t fit well. I’d also enjoy anything that explores how she views herself as a monster and the cycles of abuse she committed in her quest for freedom, and how she’s devoted to being a better person afterwards. Her reconciliation with her status as a culebra has always been fascinating, especially her thoughts on humanity and how she’s lost it, but seemingly regained it with Manola.

Finally, I requested Manola because I fucking adored her and was so upset when she died after one episode. There was so much to explore with her character, so much potential wasted and I am turning to fandom to fix it. I love how much of a spitfire Manola was, small and ready to fight anyone and everyone. I’d love to explore her backstory and where she came from, the life she experienced in Idaho, how she became a fighter and how she got embroiled in culebra politics. I want to just know more about her, especially since she so willingly gave herself to Kisa to feed after she saved her, no hesitancy, complete trust. I love her look, the combination of masculine and feminine, and how that translates into her personality, both hard and soft, willing to submit to Kisa but also defend her.

Kisa/Manola was a gift that the writers gave to me then smashed right in front of my face. I am still upset over it. I’d love ANYTHING for these two: their love story, we know how they met, but not how they came together, not how they built such trust and devotion, not how Kisa opened herself up to Manola fully and how Manola earned that. I just want to see the story behind what the show gave us, I want to experience it fully. Give me them meeting and then Manola tracking Kisa down and never leaving her alone, give me Kisa taking Manola back to her hotel room and Manola just never leaving after that, give me what Kisa saw in her soul, how they view each other as their own personal savior. I’d love anything domestic with them! How they developed their feeding ritual, how they grew together, just building a home with each other then building the fight club. Porn-wise, I’d love anything that explores how Manola clearly gets off on being bitten, but also anything with Manola being careful and slow and gentle with Kisa, knowing her history and how Kisa slowly grows to crave something harder and more rough, and how Manola works up to that, but still likes worshipping kisa sexually, while Kisa returns the favor. As much as I like D/s, I don’t think that works for this relationship, so please steer clear of that kind of vibe. I’d also just love a simple h/c where Kisa tends to Manola’s cage fighting woulds and Kisa frets and fusses over and Manola just looks at her with adoration. Or Manola is a supernatural creature in her own right AU fic! I have a huuuge soft-spot for werewolf or werecoyote!Manola, if you want to write that.

Manola lives fix-it AU is a most desired fic! God, the wasted potential, the wasted dynamics! I’d love anything from Manola getting attacked and living, and Kisa taking her on the run and into hiding until Manola convinces her to join the fight and to stop running out of fear, or Manola convincing her in the moment after her attack to join Seth and Richie, and Kisa agrees to go because the Geckos promise to help protect Manola. I think Manola going with Kisa to rebuild Carlos would be amazing, especially when they meet and imagining their dynamic. Honestly, feel free to include Carlos in any capacity, I love that piece of shit, if I had a fifth slot, it’d go to him.

If you go with the latter, I’d love anything that explores Manola bonding with each Gecko. She and Richie have a lowkey antagonistic vibe that seems to evolve quickly to mutual respect and I’d like to see that escalated into something of a friendship, while I’d love to see Manola quickly taking to Seth and Seth taking to her, both of them bonding about being the lone humans in a relationship with a culebra. I’d love to see her and Seth sparring, and she kicks his ass, and he’s just impressed while Kisa and Richie watch their humans in companionable silence. I’d love love love somehow an OT4 fic working out between Kisa/Manola/Seth/Richie with the four of them becoming a weird little family as they try to stop the end of the world. Manola growing affection for the Geckos and Kisa falling back in with them, while the Geckos already viewing Kisa as a weird sort of family member, but accepting Manola into the fold. I’d love to see a slow-burn OT4 fic that explores the S3 timeline and beyond. Feel free to include trope-y shit! Bed sharing, trapped together because of Amaru, having to do a (sexy) blood ritual in order to defeat Amaru, creepy soulbonding, or Richie and Kisa arguing over how they feed on their humans (I imagine Richie is rougher with Seth and Kisa disapproves), or resolving to turn their humans, or post-battle sex or h/c sex, or anything in between.

I’ve already gone on and on, so I am going to stop myself here. I do wanna request that if you go for a post-s3 fic, I’d prefer an AU where Kate doesn’t go with the Geckos, though I am happy to read about Kate being their criminal protege; I just DNW Kate/Geckos in any shippy capacity.

The Haunting of Hill House (TV 2018)
    Characters: Luke Crain
Hello, new fandom here! I binged this show over the course of two days because I could not stop watching, I was so enthralled. At first, I was hesitant to watch this because, as a fan of the original novel, I didn't really like what I heard of the changes, but I gave it a shot and god, am I glad that I did. This show captures what a story of a haunting should be like, not just ghosts and scares, but how people become haunted and traumatized by their experiences and it bleeds out into the rest of their lives. I so love all the Crains, but I wanted to focus on Luke (and Nell! but she was not nommed, unfortunately). Luke is fascinating to me because his addiction arc is so real and messy and I would love more expansion on why he chose drugs when Nell chose other things. They said he doesn't remember much of their mother, but clearly he remembers that night. I also ship Luke/Nell! It's alright if you don't, but I would love an exploration of their twin bond and their ability to feel and think what the other is feeling and thinking. I would also love anything about Luke being "haunted" by Nell or having a piece of her like Hugh did, that he talks to to get through his day.

Luke Luke Luke Luke Luke, Oh Luke. His arc in the show was one of my very favorites and I just want more exploration of everything. I really loved how they handled his addiction to heroin with realism and gravitas, while not completely excusing his actions because he owned everything he ever did—I especially loved how much he kept trying despite everything. I would really love a look at the Luke that he didn’t see in the show, the one that kept screwing over his siblings until they started not trusting in him or believing in him, I’d love to see all the awful, messy parts before he decided to try and change. I’d also love anything that explored when he became addicted and how, what led him to that choice of coping with everything that still haunted and traumatized him. I would also be interested in tales of how he made money or stole things, or what other criminal activities he did in order to survive or get his fix— robberies, prostitution, anything your heart desires. I’d love a glimpse of Luke after the house and growing into the man he will become, his awkward troubled teenage years and turbulent young adult years, everything.

Nell was not nominated, but I don’t think you can extricate one from the other, so I would love anything that explores the “twin thing”. How far does it go? How much do they feel of each other’s emotional or physical state? How much do they know of each other’s thoughts? I imagine it is particularly intense given the family predilection towards being psychic and I would love if this borders on a soulbond and how they handle it. Does Nell experience Luke’s cravings for heroin? Is that why she is much more forgiving than her siblings because she can understand more intimately? She felt his withdrawal, what else does she feel? What does Luke feel from her? I would love anything that expands upon this in more detail throughout their lives. Luke felt Nell being dead, it must be something intense. I love their unique relationships with the house, so I would love anything about that, especially how the house seemed to want them the most.

I ship the hell out of Luke/Nell and it’s okay if you don’t! I would love anything gen involving their relationship, but if you do, some ideas! I imagine as kids they were very insular and didn’t trust many others, so I can see how that would involve in them exploring their sexuality with each other and experimenting with each other because there is no one else they trust more. I would love to see how their psychic bond works when they become physical with each other and how that increases the intensity of what they share. If you do choose to go this route, I am interested in the reactions of their other siblings if they’re caught or like, if Theo touches one of them and sees it. I really love exploring OPOV on incest, so if you’d like to explore that in relation to their trauma and their bond, I’d love that. I don’t imagine they continued their relationship into the present because of Arthur and Luke not being jealous of that, but I’d be really interested in how Arthur deals with their closeness regardless. I am also interested in Luke’s sexuality outside of Nell. He seems vaguely interested in Joey (and I do really love that dynamic, so if you want to explore them, I would love it!), but also seems to see her as a friend, so what does Luke like, who is he into? I am open to anything, but I am especially fond of bisexual Luke headcanons.

I love that Luke recovered, I am so happy he did! But for fic set after the series, I am not interested in healthy, functional Luke. I am more interested in how Ghost!Nell said she there is no gone and I would love anything that explores that. Either shippy or gen, I would love it if Nell was kind of a comfort or by his side like Olivia was for Hugh and that Luke talks to her and she talks back. Or maybe Nell simply haunts him and there is a darker, messier dynamic. I would also be into an unhealthy descent into Luke getting addicted to her presence and losing sight of the living world. Ghost sex would be amazing, or if you want to break my heart, AU where Luke dies to be with Nell at the end, or a future fic where Luke goes back to the house to die so he can be with her forever. You can go as dark as you want for this fandom.

    Teeth - Hannah Moskowitz
    Characters: Rudy Clearwater, Teeth Delaney
I read this book in one sitting and it floored me with how painful and raw it was. I was left with wanting more and someone to fix it. I don't necessarily think the ending was wrong (because I think it fit, even if it broke me a bit), but I'd love to see a future fic where Rudy finds Teeth again, or Teeth returns to the island and finds Rudy changed. I'd love to see them reconnecting as adults and how the island most likely shaped Rudy and how Teeth has grown from his travels. I'd also like to see a fic that focuses on their time together and further exploration of their sexuality. Or simply a dark messy AU where Teeth decides to stay and the continued strain of the dynamic between them. I just want so much more!

This book is so heart-wrenchingly perfect in all its visceral pain and violence, as well as its intense love story at its heart. This book stayed with me long after I finished it like a pang in my chest—I don’t think I’ll ever be over it. It takes the concept of the mermaid and flips it on its head, rendering something wholly unique and tragic.

I really do want some kind of fix-it fic—not because I hate the ending, because I don’t, but rather I just want to much more from the dynamic between Rudy and Teeth. I'd love something in the future where Rudy is still on the island and his brother has gotten better, but Rudy can't move on and leave because he's still waiting for Teeth. I’d love for eventually Teeth to return, something that explores the changes in their dynamic and in themselves just from growing up, and Teeth having to leave the isolation of the island and explore elsewhere. Did Teeth see the world? I'd just love something that resolves and plays into the connection between them, which gives them a second chance at being able to be with each other. I'd love Rudy being careful and kind, and this to be a future where the island doesn't rely on the fish anymore so that Teeth can feel at peace knowing his family isn’t being hunted anymore.

Or you could break my heart and have Rudy’s brother die and all the fish being hunted to extinction and Teeth comes back to an older, more broken Rudy alone on an empty island and how Teeth responds and reacts to that—and how Rudy doesn’t want him to leave, but it’s physically and emotionally difficult for Teeth to be there.

On the flipside, I'd love an AU where Teeth gets to stay—imagine that the climax doesn’t happen—and he and Rudy grow closer and have a lot of exploratory experiences. Like how does sex work when your boyfriend is part-fish? I'd love something that explores that and Rudy being fascinated, and honestly attracted to Teeth's otherness. I love that Teeth isn’t actually attractive and looks quite monstrous, but Rudy still finds something beautiful in him. I'd also love something that explores Rudy being careful and tender and giving affection that Teeth very much craves. Hurt/comfort would be a super plus here. But I’d also love the conflict and angst of how possessive Teeth feels because Rudy has his family and Teeth only has him—Teeth’s jealousy and resentment of Rudy’s brother is fascinating when it comes into contention with the fact that Rudy participates in eating his family because his brother is sick and how that complicates Teeth’s attraction and growing feelings for Rudy.

Ultimately, I'd also just love hurt/comfort in general based on the time after Teeth was caught by the fishermen and Rudy trying to patch him up and take care of him. But if you just want to write me something melancholy in the form of a fairytale or heavy introspection from either Teeth or Rudy’s POV about their doomed romance, I'd still love that—the book holds a place in my heart because it was unafraid to be dark and frightening and ugly.
