Dear relationshipping author,

This letter is finally complete, thank you so much for being patient with me! And thank you so much for writing for me! My letters are usually fairly long and detailed, as I hope to cover enough ground to give you as much info in case you are not sure of what to write, but feel free to ignore most of this letter but the DNWs if something sparks you that’s not completely like what I prompted. I just want you to feel inspired and comfortable! I chose fanfic as my freeform tags because I'm not sure how to prompt for art, but if anything sparks your creativity for art, I'd love to see what you come up with! And amazingly, I've gotten this up BEFORE assignments are sent out!

I mostly use this journal as a private place to post thoughts I’m not comfortable posting on my tumblr, which is where I mostly hang out, making graphics and reblogging things—if you choose to visit, it’s good place to snoop to get a generalized glimpse at what I like.

In an effort to make my letter as skimmable as possible, here are some links to help guide you to whatever interests you and help you skip the rest.

↳ General Things I Like: I am a very emotionally oriented person. I love exploring a character’s thoughts and feelings, what it is that makes that character tick and make the choices they do. I’d rather have purely character thought-piece over a complex well-plotted fic with no emotional heart or depth. I love relationships: their dynamics, how they support one another, how they relate to each other, how they interact, where their wants and needs match up, where they differ, how their different parts interconnect or pull-apart.

I adore friendships in all forms and I love exploring what it means to be friends and the bond between characters. I love emotional history and how that affects a relationship dynamic between characters. Friends-turned-lovers is a favorite trope of mine, as well as love/hate, enemies-turned-lovers dynamics. I love snark and banter and flirting, but I also love new relationship awkwardness, relationship negotiation, and getting-to-know-you bonding. For any relationship to happen, I want some connection at the base before it turns romantic or sexual. I love developing relationships: relationship conflicts after the characters got together, trying to figure out how to make things work, some things maybe not working at first, temporary breakups. If you’re dealing with a poly-relationship, I’d love to see how the characters deal with that new dynamic and how they adjust into their new roles, how the dynamic changes (for better or for worse). I love unlikely friendships/romances, complicated relationships, group dynamics, partnerships.

I also love fucked up, varying-degrees-of-unhealthy, too-close-for-comfort relationships. Codependent relationships, obsessive relationships, completely-fixated-on-the-other relationships. I love when a character is willing to literally let the world burn, should the world try to come between them and the person they love (romantically or platonically), choosing their partner above anyone else. I really love when this is all a choice, rather than conditioning (though I do love when this closeness is born from abusive homes and situations, with the two characters banding together, them-against-the-world). Two-halves-of-a-whole-person type of relationships are my weakness—I love dynamics where the other can’t function without the other and opt for self-destruction in the face of separation (via either substance abuse or moral/character disintegration), even leading to suicide ideation. Them being equally obsessive and fucked up, and extremely invested in their relationship is what I live for. Utter devotion is key.

I also enjoy something in between the two extremes—characters relying on each other and needing each other, making sure the other is okay, taking care of each other, especially in regards to trauma and/or mental illness. Basically I love messy, codependent relationships with dysfunctional people who love each other and are terrible to each other sometimes, but also healthy, loving, mutually supportive relationships, where people take care of each other and communicate with each other, and everything in between or in combination.

I really dig domesticity and what makes a home a home, and how being a family to each other plays into that and how the characters come together in that way. I adore makeshift families and kid!fic in any form (so long as the children are written realistically and not cute accessories—I love reading about the difficulties of parenting, how it changes the relationships, characters reacting to being a parent—especially if they came from an abusive home). I love cooking and doing chores, and quiet breakfast scenes over coffee or tea. If you want to add pets, that would be wonderful! (I love all kinds of animals, but cats have a special place in my heart.

I love porn and wouldn’t mind a PWP piece, if that’s where your heart takes you, but I’d prefer it to be emotionally anchored; not necessarily romantic, but something with a connection and a reason for it happening beyond two (or three!) pretty faces.

↳ Some of my kinks include: trust (I have a huuuge trust kink that can usually make most kinks work if the basis comes from how intensely two characters trust each other and their willingness to give themselves to the other person in every way, and vice versa), angry sex, fighting-that-leads-to-sex, powerplay, D/s (that’s more focused on taking care of each other than humiliation), switching/no set sexual “roles”, topping from the bottom, service kink (getting off on giving pleasure rather than receiving), oral sex, licking, fingering, dirty talk (please no humiliation), praise kink, teasing, body worship, sensory overload (being overwhelmed by sensations, being touched immediately after orgasm), biting/marking/scratching, begging, public sex, heat-of-the-battle sex, frantic sex, jealousy and possessiveness, bloodplay, voyeurism, bondage, somnophilia, size differences, partially-clothed or mostly-clothed sex, handjobs, rimming, frottage, intercrural, double-penetration, masturbation/fantasizing about the other before getting together, mutual masturbation, drunk or high sex (both the emotionally messy, dubcon-y, bad idea kind and the sloppily affectionate consensual kind), rough sex, characters who kink on violence and danger (gunplay, knifeplay, breathplay, exhibitionism, etc.), hatesex, scar kink, sex for comfort and solace, dressing and undressing, messy badly-negotiated (or unnegotiated) sexual desires, inexperience, sexuality exploration, first times, clothes kink (suits, uniforms, gloves, boots etc.), neat characters being disheveled for once; casual characters cleaning up nicely, clothes-sharing, choosing clothes for the other person as kink/foreplay, sex in other places than a bed: on tables, against walls, on the floor, on a chair, in the shower, messiness (sweat, come, etc.), competence kink (characters kinking on the skills set of another, i.e. Seth’s admiration/fixation on Richie cracking safes), oral fixation (smoking, fingersucking, shotgunning, etc.), sex where emotions are mixed, or difficult to acknowledge, or emotionally hurtful to acknowledge, sex that doesn't heal anybody's deep emotional wounds, moody messy melancholy sex.

I’d really love all of this to be paired with tenderness and sweetness, just little touches here and there: hand-holding, forehead touching, forehead/face kisses, snuggling and cuddling, nuzzling, hugs from behind, neck kisses, scar kissing. Lots of kissing in general is lovely. I love the “we like each other so much that we can’t stop touching each other in any way” trope a lot. Sharing food, sharing clothes, sharing beds. Sleep related things in general: comfort after a nightmare, falling asleep together, one character watching the other sleep. Characters feeling safe and cherished by the other. Simple casual intimacy is fantastic and very much appreciated.

↳ Random and miscellaneous things I love:
  • backstory, future fic, unreliable narrators, outsider POV adding new insight, outsider POV in general, snapshots, missing scene fics, character studies, missing scenes, codas, alternate canons, semi-alternate universes, and canon divergences, and/or slight changes to canon, “what if” AUs
  • epistolary fic, or a “five times something happened” type of fic, or a “five things you didn’t know,” fics that start in the middle with flashbacks, play with format, if you want
  • happy endings, bittersweet endings, downer endings—whatever works for your story: no happy domestic fics with sudden swerves into death fic, but if something is generally melancholy to begin with, go with the downer ending
  • road trips, small towns, traveling, a sense of place, in between moments and in transit, a strong sense of a setting—I really love the aesthetics of being on the road, having to stay in crappy motels and living in and out of suitcases
  • communicating without words
  • established relationships/friendships, and domesticity with slice-of-life that details their routine or daily life
  • the intimacy of living together for a while, or people learning to share space—people sharing household chores or cooking food for each other, people having silly arguments with each other over routine things or watching movies together
  • awkward wooing, or when people can’t say things in words so they say it in action
  • slow burns, UST, people reconnecting again, getting back together, learning to love each other again, pining for each other
  • reunions, a strong sense of history between characters
  • intense protectiveness, will-kill-for-you-without-thinking protectiveness—or the flipside, will-lay-down-my-life self-sacrificial type of protectiveness
  • trust—either people who trust each other or people with trust issues
  • surprising intellect from unsuspecting characters
  • small but meaningful moments
  • bad weather, quiet rainy days, autumn, the ocean, the desert, the woods, libraries, characters reading to each other, sense of time passing, the change of seasons, being snowed in
  • found families
  • complicated relationships and internal conflicts—I like relationships where not everything is clear cut between people, when conflict stems from personal issues or clashing, rather than something external, where there’s angst and anger between these characters, but also genuine love and fondness
  • awful people being tender to each other, terrible people who don’t know how to love, or trying very hard to be good to each other (with some or no success)
  • hurt/comfort of ANY KIND—illness or wounded or just having a bad day, any kind of physical or emotional bad stuff happening to characters (either the main point of the fic or in the background/stemming from canon events), and characters looking after one another, especially tending to injuries, patching the other up, assisting with a drug recovery, to helping each other cope with PTSD or loss, helping them day to day—just a person taking care of someone as a practical way to show love
  • darkfic of any kind—psychological mind games, body horror, creepy obsessive claustrophobic dynamics, erotic horror, desperate broken violent lives of crime, break-it fics (unhappy or unresolved endings are okay!)
  • focus on mental illness or trauma, such as panic attacks, character adjusting to each other’s needs, messy coping mechanisms and “bad victim” traits
  • exploring physical disabilities (losing sight/hearing/the ability to a speak)
  • irrational ugly emotions, like jealousy or resentment or paranoia
  • claustrophobic and isolation stories, be it physical or emotional isolation
  • angst: self-doubts, guilt, shame, nightmares, fears, self-destructive tendencies, alcohol/drug abuse, character-appropriate self-harm, suicide ideation
  • monsters of any kind—vampires, werewolves, merpeople, witches, ghosts, humanity as monstrosity, the “monster” being more human than the “human”, the interplay between where monstrosity begins and humanity ends, struggles with monsterhood; I love human/monster pairings where the human is fascinated with their otherness and cherishes their monster partner
  • characters who aren’t sure how to “people” properly, characters who aren’t good at being “human.” Inhumanity, especially when love is demonstrated or expressed differently, but still love
  • fairytale themes: retellings, use of fairytales as a structure, or a fairytale structured story
  • reincarnation or soulmates, with the relationship feeling old and constant, or the messy complications that come with being soulmates, “wrong” soulmates, character reliving the same time loops, losing each other and colliding with each other and missing each other completely, past lives, epic-across-time stories

  • ↳ DNWs: I don’t like radical AUs (unless specified), like coffee shop AU or college AUs. I have nothing really against them, but I prefer to read about characters in the canon setting.

I prefer not to read about excessive abuse, but I understand it’s inclusion if it’s part of a character’s backstory. I like reading about the aftereffects of abuse, of trauma, but not the actual traumatic events in detail. Torture or anything further than canon typical violence.

Extreme underage, especially with adults is deeply uncomfortable for me. I am okay with young-ish teenagers (14/15) experimenting with each other, but with my age differential ships, I’d prefer the younger character to be at least sixteen and no romanticization of the dynamic and acknowledgement of the inherent power dynamic at play.

Mentally ill or neurotypical characters treated as evil or terrible—it’s fine if they're experiencing ableism, but I don't want the whole fic to be about that.

No deathfic unless the characters die or have died in canon, or a villain is being killed. Referring to the major character deaths that occur in canon and exploring those after effects is okay, but otherwise, I’d rather not read it. I don’t consider it deathfic if someone dies and then comes back in the same fic.

Miscommunication as a plot point. Cheating/infidelity. Character bashing, ship bashing (if you really can’t stand a character or a ship, I’d prefer you shunt them off to the side or pretend they don’t exist entirely).

My squicks are: parental or cross-gen incest (sibling or cousin incest is totally okay), bestiality (xenophilia in terms of sentient monsters, on the other hand, is encouraged), a/b/o, watersports, scat or most hardcore kinks, humiliation (sexual or otherwise), and rigid top/bottom roles (I prefer switching! But if you have a top/bottom preference for certain characters, that’s okay, I just rather it implied in the fic that’s not all they do).

Non-con is a hardline trigger for me, so I’d rather avoid it unless it’s part of a character’s backstory (I’m okay with dub-con though—either messy and fucked up stuff with one character taking advantage of the other, or “we all got drunk and had sex together, whoops”).

    P R O M P T S

    Cam (2018)
    Ship: Alice Ackerman/Lola_Lola

I loved this movie so very much and I was left thinking about it long after it was finished. I really love how it centered a sex worker as the hero of her own story without punishing her or making her get out of the industry. I really love Alice and how after her experience throughout the films events doesn’t make her want to give up, but rather make her become more determined. It’s such a unique treasure of a film, but also very very weird. Which is why it is hard to articulate exactly what I want, especially since Lola_Lola is essentially a computer virus and not a real person at all. But I would have really liked the movie to go further and for Alice to interact more with her double, maybe woo her double like she were a client, having solo video chats with Lola_Lola and falling a bit too in over her head, catching feelings and wanting to try stuff with her that wouldn’t otherwise be possible, like web cam sex. I am curious how much of Alice’s life that Lola_Lola knows and I would love for Alice to try and figure out how similar they really are.

Given that Lola_Lola is a computer virus, I would love a full AU where she’s a doppelganger or something more supernatural and physical, or maybe she is just a manifestation in Alice’s mind, but I would prefer a physical being that Alice can eventually find and touch. Maybe there’s a reason the being stole Alice’s identity, maybe it was to lure her somewhere, maybe the entity wanted to possess her or take her away. Just feel free to go wild with this AU. Choose whatever avenue you’d like. Maybe it’s a fae creature or Alice is a changeling! Anything to get a physical manifestation of Lola_Lola. I would love how that would change things or shift the dynamic, but also I want Alice to be able to confront an actual manifestation of Lola_Lola. I would also love for Lola_Lola to be more sentient and have motives and agendas, and I’d love any kind of mind fuckery.

Honestly, I really just want smutty things, but I imagine there needs to be plot on how to make that happen and I am interested in how that happens—I just want them to be able to touch and kiss and have sex. I would love to explore Alice’s headspace throughout that decision and why she would want to, what Lola_Lola gains from it, if anything. I would love to explore the ins and outs of how it happens. Feel free to go full kinky, body horror if you want. Or just focus on the fact of how identical they are, I would love both! Honestly, if you’re writing this for me, I simply will be happy with any fic at all.

    Dead Ringers (1988)
    Ship: Beverly Mantle/Elliot Mantle

This film was tailor-made for me. I really adore everything about David Cronenberg as a director, especially in the 70's and 80's—he just has a way in tapping into what exactly I love about horror. The body horror, mind screws, madness, and weird philosophical underpinnings about humanity and inhumanity that he chooses to explore are everything I love about the genre and his films. But what sets Dead Ringers apart for me personally is the emphasis on the connection between Beverly and Elliot and how they share everything, from their careers, to women, to experiences. I love the tug of war between them and their identities and question of whether they’re two people at all, or if they are a single entity.

I’d love a fic set somewhere pre-canon. What were they like as children? As teenagers? The flashback at the start of the movie was really interesting in terms of how they purposefully and deliberately cut themselves off from their peers as young kids--I’d love more exploring that throughout their lives, their codependence, and them being or becoming a single unit of a person. Show me the development of that and how that grows into an incestuous relationship between them.

I’d be so interested in something that explores their sex lives pre-movie. I know this is a slash exchange, but in case you’re interested, I’d be intrigued by them having an actual threesome with another woman—maybe an AU when Elliot does get Beverley to have threesome with him, or more creepy dreams with Beverly and Claire, or maybe pre-canon stuff where they’ve done threesomes before. I’m really interested in the scene where Elliot hires the twin sex workers and asks one of them to call him “Elly” and the other “Bev”. I’d love something that explores more of that—perhaps a fixation on other twins, or just exploring Elliot’s psychosexual fixation on his brother, both as a person and “being” his brother.

If you’re so inclined, I’d love to read hurt/comfort for them. Some of my favorite parts of the movie were Elliot trying hard to put his brother together and fix him, and the reversal of that at the end. I’d love to see maybe an AU where Beverly doesn’t separate the twins, but does other things to help Elliot instead. Maybe an AU where they leave their lives together and run off somewhere else to help each other cope with their madness? That’s not to say I would hate a fic that keeps the original ending because I think the ending is so fitting, but I’d be interested in something that expands their dynamic beyond that place.

Their identity issues fascinate me, I’d love a fic exploring that—given everyone confuses them or doesn’t think or know there’s two of them, maybe something about how they’re becoming a single entity. Less separating the twins and more merging into one, either literally or just metaphorically, with Beverly struggling to tell himself apart from his brother or something like that—both would be really interesting. I loved the nightmare sequence with Claire biting their umbilical cord that attaches them, and their fixation on conjoined twins, so anything that includes the visceral body of their connection would be amazing.

Lastly, I am generally not a huge AU person—I find myself craving canon-based fic more and more, but I think a vampire AU for these two in particular, or even just monster AU, would be really interesting. The twins feel very otherworldly to begin with, so maybe an AU when they’re already vampires or were always monsters in literal ways, or maybe they become monsters—maybe instead of killing his brother, Beverly turns his brother into a vampire or something like that. The main point here is VAMPIRES AND MONSTERS though, and how that affects their uncomfortable, fucked-up codependent relationship.

    Evil Dead (2013)
    Ship: David Allen/Mia Allen

I adored this remake far more than I thought I would. What really drew me into the story of this film was the relationship between David and Mia—what can I say, I’m a sucker for sibling dynamics, especially dysfunctional ones, with a heavy history, that end up trying to do everything for each other. I found David’s arc particularly compelling from the standpoint that he left, and his entire drive through the movie is trying to prove that he’s never going to do that again, that he’s not going to let Mia down again—and it shows in his fraying nerves and desperation as the movie continues and he tries to help Mia (once by trying to drive her away when she asks, and again when she’s possessed). I could talk endlessly about him dressing her nicely when he goes to bury her alive in order to bring her back and the emotional weight of that scene, but I’ll spare you. I think there was something particularly beautiful in him sacrificing himself in the end to give Mia a fighting chance, even if it didn’t work—just the fact his arc lead there seemed right.

And MIA, god, I love Mia. New favorite final girl. I love how in essence, David is the decoy protagonist and this is really Mia’s movie. Full disclosure: I love how Mia is not the perfect protagonist—she’s a drug addict who’s trying to kick the habit in perhaps not the most healthy, or reasonable way and she’s weak, she gives in and asks to be taken away; Mia is kind of a mess and I enjoy that about her character, especially within the context of the ending. As much I enjoyed David’s arc, Mia’s is just one step above that in my heart. I love that she’s considered worthy of being saved, but I love even more that Mia, the character who arguably began the movie at her weakest, was the one to survive the whole ordeal, finding the strength inside herself to face literal demons and live, fighting hard to the point of cutting off her own arm in order for a chance as survival. That last shot of her cover in mud and blood walking into the sunrise is gorgeous.

I ship David and Mia a lot and I think the canon lends itself to an incestuous interpretation both pre-movie or in a post-movie AU. I think there’s a lot of complicated and dysfunctional emotions between these two, given glimpses of history between the two of them within the context of canon and I would love that expanded on and explored. I would especially love most a post-movie AU where they both make it out and have to rebuild, clinging unhealthily to each other because they’re the only two people that understand what they went through. This can be in a roadtrip form as they try to figure out where to settle, and finding themselves adrift in the world or after they’ve settled somewhere, living in a strange, domestic sort of existence as they try to deal with what happened to them. Or maybe they’re trapped in those woods and have to learn how to get out by working together. Or backstory fic, I would really adore a backstory fic that explains exactly what happened to them around the time David left. I am really interested in their dynamic with their sick mother and how David abandoned Mia and her both. I’d also love anything centering Mia's drug addiction as a point of contention with her and David.

Honestly, I just would love either angsty twisted codependent incest either post-film while they're recovering from the trauma, or pre-film as some kind of dark secret between them—or both! Both is good. I just wish I had more time with these characters and their dynamic.

From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series
    Ships: Richard Gecko/Seth Gecko, Richard Gecko/Seth Gecko/Santanico Pandemonium, Richard Gecko/Seth Gecko/Vanessa Styles, Richard Gecko/Seth Gecko/Santanico Pandemonium/Vanessa Styles

This is the show of my heart. If you’ve taken a look around my tumblr, then you will have noticed it’s basically my life. It’s such a small fandom and I wish every day it was bigger because I love it so much. It combines two things I really love in such a beautiful way—the crime, action genre with vampires and horror elements, all with a Mesoamerican mytharc that sets it apart from so many shows in the same vein. It’s currently in production limbo, possibly cancelled, but all the episodes are on Netflix if any of this appeals to you and you have no idea what this show is. If you’re looking for a show about violent, vicious codependent criminal brothers being dragged into world of monsters, then this is the show for you.

Seth/Richie is my OTP of the show, so anything you write for me for them would be greatly appreciated and adored. I love both Seth and Richie so much—together and individually. It’s the ship of my dreams—two messy, fucked up codependent brothers so twisted around the bend for each other where nothing actually can come between them (except each other), the pair of them growing up as two pieces of the same whole, not actually complete without the other, a matching set. I love their coded language of mottos and catchphrases and secret handshakes, I love their banter and their bickering, I love their love of film and film references. Their shared history of violence and abuse is so important to me and how I view them and how they were shaped. I love the fact that Richie killed their father for Seth, to keep Seth safe, to save both of them from more abuse and I love that Seth never full knew, yet still commemorated the act with a tattoo that covers his entire arm—wearing his heart, quite literally, on his sleeve. There is so much for me with these two that so many things would make me happy.

From the ground up, I’d love a pre-series fic that focuses on them coming together in an incestuous relationship—how they grew up isolated and depending upon each other. I have my own headcanons for how this happened, but I’d love to see a new, refreshing take and always open to exploring new avenues for how Seth and Richie come together. I’d prefer the focus to be on fraught their relationship is and how desperate and clingy they are to each other, and for that to be equal between them—they both show that in different ways (Seth is louder, more action-driven and Richie is more internal, and quiet in his love), but I don’t want to see a situation where one loves and sacrifices more for the other or where one is shown to love the other less. Uncle Eddie was one of my favorite secondary characters and any use of his would be welcome, I’d love a fic that utilizes Uncle Eddie being the one to raise them post-fire and how they feel about him as they grow, or even an OPOV fic of them from Uncle Eddie’s POV as he watched their fucked up relationship develop and as he comes to understand it.

I also really want to see someone else’s take on how their dynamic grows as they become these legendary criminals that everyone’s heard of. I’d like to see how they build themselves up into these dangerous, terrifying bank robbers that even culebra bigwigs know of. I want an exploration of how they built their legend from the ground up, how they took the Gecko name from something that the criminal community derided to something they respected. I’d love to see a fic that showcases the legends and stories that get passed around about them, or something that shows the truth behind the public perception of them. I’d be interested in an OPOV fic from the perspective of the FBI hunting the, or the intake officers or the psychiatrist that evaluates Seth when he’s caught and imprisoned—is the fact they’re incestuous in their files, does the law know or even consider it? I know some of this must take place while Seth is married, so I just want to caveat that I really adore Vanessa and I’d love to see her involved or featured in some way. If you don’t want to include her or don’t like her, that’s fine, but please be kind to her—just mention her she’s someone Seth cares about, or write around her, please.

S1-era stuff set when Richie is losing his mind due to having visions of Kisa and the demons she makes him see would be fantastic. I’d love more exploration of that, with Richie trying to fight for his own sanity and control, especially if he uses Seth as an anchor to his sanity and humanity, and uses Seth to ground himself—physically, mentally, or emotionally. Maybe when Richie looks at Seth or grabs on to Seth, the visions go away. Maybe Richie feels closer to himself when Seth is kissing him or inside him or just holding him down or holding them close as they sleep. I’d love a missing moment or missing scene from that time, focusing on either Richie’s POV with emphasis on hos Seth makes him feel safe, or an exploration of Seth’s POV with him taking on this new role of caring for his terrified brother and scared of what’s happening to Richie and feeling in over his head and out of his depth and unsure of how to help—so he clings to his own fairytale he spins for himself and Richie called El Rey.

God, anything set post-s1 and during their separation would be amazing and very welcome. But for some starters, I’d love Seth having nightmares about Richie or hallucinating him while high on heroin or in withdrawal—I love the angst of Seth seeing Richie and unable to get him out of his head no matter how hard he’s trying to snuff him out with drugs and alcohol. I’d love an exploration of Seth’s instinct towards self-destruction in the face of separation from his brother—I’d be okay with suicide ideation here, I almost encourage it and would love the thought that stops Seth is that Richie isn’t dead, so there’s still a foolish sort of hope that keeps him clinging to life. Or I’d love some kind of body horror dream sex with culebra!Richie, emphasis on how Seth’s brother is a monster now and how a part of him doesn’t care and is actually into it. Seth must have kept scratching at his bite wounds and putting his fingers there for them not to have healed in three months. I’d love perhaps a messy fic where Seth masturbates while sticking his fingers in the puncture wounds, or something that explores the thought that heroin is a replacement for the venom that Richie never gave him, that Richie never turned him or chose him.

Or something exploring Richie’s POV would be all kinds of amazing, since s2 was kind of lax on that. I’d love the emphasis to be put on how he thought Seth didn’t want to be with him anymore—the “we’re done” scene comes to mind, especially Richie’s face afterwards—and how that was re-emphasized throughout the latter half of s1, so Richie breaks it off with him because he thought Seth may be better off without him, that Seth wanted to be “set free,” even though Seth’s last minute turn around suggests that wasn’t the case—but it happened too late. I’d love anything exploring Richie trying to move on from Seth by throwing himself furiously into his own ambitions, becoming kind of cold and driven, but grieving him as well. Or something that explores his long-simmering anger and building resentment at Seth having failed him and not believed him, and how that was never fully resolved.

Anything exploring the fact that Seth was the first person who Richie fed on in reality would be lovely. Based on the in-show mythology, culebras feed on the soul and consume parts of the person they feed from, which means Richie fed on Seth’s soul—go wild with that. I’d love something that explores the intimacy of Richie carrying around a piece of his brother’s soul or Seth’s soul becoming part of his DNA literally, or an even more intense expansion on the concept—maybe they end up with a messy mental connection because of that, even when separated from each other? Maybe they’re bound through their souls now. But really I just love fucked up angst and intimacy stemming from that act.

Fic set during s2 would be great as it’s honestly my favorite season in terms of their relationship—them pining for each other while acting like they don’t care at all and they’ve moved on is one of my favorite aspects of the evolution of their dynamic. Anything involving missing scenes from the season focusing on their inability to communicate ending up with them having rough, angry sex—exploring how they feel drawn to each other bodily and sexually, but refusing to acknowledge it intellectually or emotionally. I’d love something that showcases how they still fit together perfectly, work together seamlessly, but there’s still that emotional wall between them that they have to overcome. Anything that shows their anger melting for melancholy tenderness that aches from longing and hurt would be sweet.

I’d also love to read someone’s take on how they come back together in the aftermath of s2 as well—how do they adjust to life as bank robbers turned collectors with a home base and crew? Or what happened to Jackknife Jed’s? Did they run the truck stop for a while before they became collectors? How do all these changes affect them and their relationship? How does forced closeness make them confront all that’s between them? How do they change with each other and learn from each other again? I’d love to read Seth adjusting to Richie being a culebra now and honestly becoming fascinated with Richie’s culebra face, scaled body, or his mind control powers. I’d love for this to be explored within the confines of a sexual space (i.e. Seth wants Richie to use his mind control powers on him in a D/s consent play space), but if you just want to write Seth touching Richie all over and exploring his new face and new body in a show of intimacy and physicality, I’d love that.

I love them in s3 and how they’ve come back together, but everything is so fraught and tense because their comfortable life they thought they had is shattered and now they run the risk of losing each other again causes them to become even more intense and clingy with each other. Remember how Seth thought Richie was dead in 3x09? Remember that walkie-talkie conversation? I’d love anything with Seth choosing to run towards Richie instead of the church or anything that explores their PSTD post-s3 at having nearly lost each other forever—Richie’s time in Xibalba or how Seth almost committed suicide via Amaru to be with him. But most of all, I love the introduction of shadow selves and shadow!Richie especially. His obsession with Seth and how he was going to drag Seth into Xibalba with him, to his manhandling and control of Seth, to his tying Seth up and openly leering at him, pressing his body close to Seth’s—all of that hit my buttons. I’d love maybe an AU where Shadow!Richie comes back from hell instead of real!Richie post-s3, or Shadow!Richie sticking around longer even after 3x06, or even just Richie’s headspace after living with an extreme ID-y version of himself in control of his body, or Seth’s attraction to a more openly violent and dangerous version of his brother that was willing to do dirtybadwrong things to him.

This is a vague prompt, but I’d love something that explores the legend of the Geckos, maybe playing on the hero twin mytharc, but with more of Geckos becoming legendary in their own right, even among culebras. I’ve been watching American Gods lately so I don’t exactly want a fusion, but I’d love the idea of Geckos becoming immortal legends from the stories people tell about them? Or something about their bloodline being special (callback to Carlos’ ‘you got a little bit of Lucifer in you’ line). Or something just a bit fairytale and mythic about them—perhaps something focusing on their connection; there’s a scene in S2 where Richie gets his powers, then cuts to Seth suddenly being able to see all the culebras in the bar and their true faces, if you need inspiration. Anything with them sharing powers from the “gods” in terms of being able to see and to take action as the show described would make for a really excellent fic.

In general, anything hurt/comfort-y or Geckos protecting one another during a job, or exploring Richie setting the fire and killing their dad for Seth and Seth’s flame tattoo, especially his choice to extend it to his throat, over Richie’s bite marks—or how they keep choosing one another, over and over again, can’t live without each other; all of that is good, I’d love anything with that.

These three are everything to me, the pillars that shape the narrative of the show, and I would just love anything that expands upon their dynamic and connection that was showcased in the show. I am fascinated about how Seth and Richie’s relationship is shaped and re-molded by Kisa—first as a wedge that is set between them (a catalyst, really, of the issues already there), then as someone who brought them back together; Kisa is an interesting case of someone able to get between the infamous Gecko brothers and come out unscathed. I’m also in love with how fond they’ve become of her and how in awe they are of her, not in a worshipful, religious way, but of genuine affection, despite the history between them. I don’t think they’re all sunshine and roses, and I love the messiness between all of them, but I’m definitely a fan of how they’ve grown together. I love the messiness of them, how Seth blames Kisa for their separation and for Richie being so different now, but ultimately she makes him own up to his own mistakes. They’re such similar creatures, so anything about their dynamic would be a treat. The history between Kisa and Richie is even more complex given she abused and used him, but he has forgiven her, but I imagine that hurt is still there, lingering. I would really love anything that explores both sides—the good and the bad, the ugly and the sweet.

I am fascinated with how the mythos of the show is created around them all being mythic figures that don’t exactly live up to the expectations and are messy and human underneath the layers of performance and lore. They are the core three of the show and I’d love anything that explores that: slow burn future-fic where they come together after Richie turns Seth and Kisa has rebuilt culebra society, or further along the lines, or a post-S2 AU where Kisa decides to stick around and help them run their empire, or keeps coming back to them and finding them comforting or giving Kisa a sense of family, which she’s been seeking for most of her life. A place to rest her weary head, so to speak. I’d love anything that explores her POV of the Geckos as a unit and how their level of fierce devotion must terrify her on some level given the shape her abuse took and how worship and devotion looks to her and feels to her. I’d love anything about her watching them and learning to understand the language they speak in, and in turn, they learn about her as well.

I’D GIVE MY FIRST BORN FOR A POST-S3 AU FIC WHERE RICHIE ENDS UP TRAPPED IN XIBALBA, AND KISA AND SETH MUST RESOLVE TO RESCUE HIM.

Another Post-S3 scenario I’d love is where they meet again down the line some years later, and end up back in each other’s lives. Maybe Richie decides to help Kisa rebuild culebra society and Seth tags along, maybe Richie’s turned Seth into a culebra and wants Kisa’s help, maybe they just accidentally run into each other and get a drink together to catch up, then fall into bed together.

OR! A post-s1 AU where Seth goes with Kisa and Richie and how that changes things. I would love to see Seth being jealous of the Richie/Kisa relationship and wanting to insert himself in the middle, and Kisa trying to win Seth over because she can win Richie over to her side the more she gets Seth to like her, and Richie trying to cope with the force of nature they both are, similar people with similar tempers and tactics, while Richie has to keep up. Or maybe Seth INSISTS on going, despite Richie’s wishes, and how that changes everything. I’d love to see Seth and Kisa fight over Richie or for his attention and Richie just, has a headache about this whole thing. Honestly, just play with the weird complicated mess between all three of them that kind of situation would bring.

I’d love anything tropey for them—all three of snowed in together some place? Pretending to be dating, or pretending that Kisa is their sister for some kind of scheme (that goes kinky places)? Kisa helping them cross dress for some reason? Them all having to plan a heist together and getting into dangerous situations makes them all hot and bothered? I’m all for it. I live for tropes.

Saying that Seth and Richie are really intense about each other is kind of an understatement, so I would love anything that shows Kisa’s OPOV on them and how their extreme affection, codependency, and possessiveness translates to her, given her history of objectification and abuse, and how Kisa tries to understand how this can be defined as “love”. There is a lot of ownership between Seth and Richie, and it’s a welcome consensual kind of ownership and belonging, but I feel aspects of that would be almost triggering to Kisa and I would love to see how she comes to terms with that by being a voyeur. It can either be through accidentally catching them in the act and watching them in secret, or being invited to watch as a show for her—or a show of possession and jealousy on Seth’s end, showing Kisa who Richie really belongs to, as a way of working on his issues towards her. I would just love to see Kisa watching them at their most intimate and how she reflects on that and how it makes her feel. Or it can be a later situation with a sort of established relationship where Kisa is in charge and is giving them directions on what to do, allowing her to be the spectator who gets a show instead of being the one on display—maybe she asks them to strip for her, or simply she wants to see how they are with each other when no one is watching. Bonus points for her focusing on their physical difference and physicality with each other.

In terms of Kisa’s actual participation, this can go a multiple of ways! I’d love an AU of S1 where Seth actually goes with them like Kisa offered and Kisa orchestrates threesomes as a way of building a connection and team rapport, and showing Seth and Richie that she knows about them and doesn’t care. Or a S2 missing scene where they all work out their issues between the sheets, with Seth showing Kisa how Richie reacts with him compared to her and her assuring him that she doesn’t want Richie, not forever, and Richie just being caught between the two extreme personalities. Or post-S3 where Seth and Richie find their way back to Kisa and they fall into a more intimate relationship. I am really obsessed with Seth being the human between these two powerful monsters and I would love that explored in a sexy way! Either they get trapped somewhere and Kisa and Richie are very hungry and need to share Seth as a food source, or Richie chooses to share Seth, or they both show off their culebra characteristics in bed with Seth, like their fangs or scales or their eyes turning yellow. Seth’s perspective on being in bed with two people who could devour him and how he gets off on the danger of it would also be very hot.

I’d love a scenario where Seth is the only human around and both Richie and Kisa are extra drawn to him, either because of some kind of culebra sex pollen that makes Seth catnip to culebras, or Seth is just naturally like that. Either way, I love the thought of Seth as extra tasty. Or if Seth/Richie/Kisa are all stuck somewhere together, maybe unable to leave, and both Kisa and Richie are very hungry. Do they take turns rationing Seth together? Feed off him all once? Accidentally kill him and now they have to turn him?

I’d love focus on the animal and inhuman aspects of culebras during sex, such as their scales, maybe kissing down them or rubbing in them, or their fangs and how it feels to be bitten. I’d love to see Kisa and Richie wrap around Seth for warmth like actual snakes, or do any other snake things together. I’d love focus on Kisa’s wings as well, and stroking them, exploring them, maybe they’re extra sensitive, if you wanna go there.

I love the thought of fragile human Seth between two monsters but I also think it’d be just as hot if he was turned into a culebra as well, maybe to save his life, or maybe because Richie doesn’t want to be without him for eternity, how that falls out and changes the dynamic between the three of them. I’d love to read any kind of filth with the three of them together as culebras, with Richie and Kisa trying to teach Seth how to be a culebra and use his new powers, Seth hunting with them, maybe with Richie and/or Kisa holding someone down for him to eat, or maybe Seth is out of control for a culebra and they have to restrain him. If you wanna write sexy, turn Seth into a vampire during sex, I’d also love the fuck out of that.

Any situation you choose, I’d prefer Kisa only to be in the middle if Richie and Seth are working as a team to get her off (or double-penetration that Kisa asks for) and not sharing her as a way to express their feelings with a girl in the middle. I very much ascribe to the opinion that Richie is the middle of this threesome, given how it’s Richie that ultimately connects Kisa and Seth, so I would love anything that focuses on how Kisa and Seth relate to one another due to their connection to Richie. I would really love Seth sharing how he handles Richie in bed, how Richie gets submissive and needy for Seth and kinks on servicing Seth, which is really interesting to Kisa given Seth’s status as a human. I would also like Seth watching Kisa dominating Richie in bed or just Richie going down on Kisa, the two of them switching and taking “control” of Richie, or fighting over his attention—or working together to tag team Richie and overwhelm him with pleasure, possibly by tying him up and blindfolding him so he can tell who is who. I would enjoy anything that focuses on Kisa and Seth struggling over Richie and competing for his attention in bed—Seth doing it out of jealousy, while Kisa is doing it for the sheer enjoyment of it. Afterwards, I would like them to snuggle and deal with the emotions that came from sex—unexpected, but not unwelcome. I feel like culebras are very snuggle-y like snakes, and I would love to see Kisa and Richie coil around Seth because he is so warm.

Vanessa is honestly so fascinating to me and I am so sad she never returned to the show. I really want to know everything about her and how she got involved with Seth, and by extension, Richie. I don’t think her issue with Richie is based on actual hatred, but rather her knowing he always comes first to Seth and her sense of their relationship not exactly being heavy. I’d love to lean into that and explore just how much she knows and how much she tries to ignore when it is kind of flagrantly right there. I’d love to see the dynamic between her and Richie—what’s it like? How did they manage those years that she and Seth were together? I tend to see Richie and Seth carrying on, with Seth thinking it’s okay, but Richie kind of dying inside feeling like “the other woman,” when in reality, that’s Vanessa.

How you get them into bed together is up to you. Anything would be fascinating to explore because I think there’s a lot more hurt feelings and tensions between them, and Vanessa has less loose morality than Kisa, but if you want it to be one disastrous threesome that never happens again, I am down for that. Or if you want to try and develop a threesome relationship, I would really love that. Vanessa was supposed to cross over into Mexico with them, so if you wanted to write an AU where canon diverged and she did, I would be interested to see how that goes and how that changes things. I’d also just love anything with them working as a team to rob a bank and how they function as a trio, instead of a duo.

As for Seth/Richie/Kisa/Vanessa, I just really want to smush them all together into one big, happy, poly incestuous family, so really anything you write for me for them would be amazing. This is the longest shot ship, so I’m really nervous to get too specific, but I just want to explore how Richie and Seth both had relationships with these women and they factor so much into their shared history that I want to see if it works when it’s all four of them.

The Haunting of Hill House (Netflix)
    Ship: Eleanor "Nell" Crain/Luke Crain

This show captures what a story of a haunting should be like, not just ghosts and scares, but how people become haunted and traumatized by their experiences and it bleeds out into the rest of their lives. Luke is fascinating to me because his addiction arc is so real and messy and I would love more expansion on why he chose drugs when Nell chose other things, such as her search for identity, different religions, therapy, etc. They said he doesn't remember much of their mother, but clearly he remembers that night. And so does Nell, I would love anything that explores their different reactions and different coping mechanisms, as well as the codependency born out of their shared trauma. Do they ever discuss that night? Try and piece together the details? I would love an exploration of their twin bond and their ability to feel and think what the other is feeling and thinking. I would also love anything about Luke being "haunted" by Nell or having a piece of her like Hugh did, that he talks to to get through his day.

Oh Luke. His arc in the show was one of my very favorites and I just want more exploration of everything. I really loved how they handled his addiction to heroin with realism and gravitas, while not completely excusing his actions because he owned everything he ever did—I especially loved how much he kept trying despite everything. I would really love a look at the Luke that he didn’t see in the show, the one that kept screwing over his siblings until they started not trusting in him or believing in him, I’d love to see all the awful, messy parts before he decided to try and change and how Nell stuck by him through it all—I would love to she her POV on how a part of herself is so self destructive and how she can feel that destruction like it’s happening to her. I’d also love anything that explored when he became addicted and how, what led him to that choice of coping with everything that still haunted and traumatized him. I would also be interested in tales of how he made money or stole things, or what other criminal activities he did in order to survive or get his fix—robberies, prostitution, anything your heart desires. Did Nell ever help him steal things? Is you want to go full AU where the two of them take off and leave as teenagers and go on the run together, I would be so down.

Nell is very near and dear to me, so I would also love anything about her struggles with trying to find herself and make sense of what happened. I would love anything where Luke humors her and tries out a spiritual retreat, or if both of them as teenagers got into occult things and messed around with a ouija board. I would also just love Luke’s POV on her and how he admires her, while the rest of the family sees her as a mess of a different sort.

I would love anything that explores the “twin thing”. How far does it go? How much do they feel of each other’s emotional or physical state? How much do they know of each other’s thoughts? I imagine it is particularly intense given the family predilection towards being psychic and I would love if this borders on a soulbond and how they handle it. Does Nell experience Luke’s cravings for heroin? Is that why she is much more forgiving than her siblings because she can understand more intimately? She felt his withdrawal, what else does she feel? What does Luke feel from her? I would love anything that expands upon this in more detail throughout their lives. Luke felt Nell being dead, it must be something intense. I love their unique relationships with the house, so I would love anything about that, especially how the house seemed to want them the most.

I imagine as kids they were very insular and didn’t trust many others, so I can see how that would involve in them exploring their sexuality with each other and experimenting with each other because there is no one else they trust more. I would love to see how their psychic bond works when they become physical with each other and how that increases the intensity of what they share. If you do choose to go this route, I am interested in the reactions of their other siblings if they’re caught or like, if Theo touches one of them and sees it. I really love exploring OPOV on incest, so if you’d like to explore that in relation to their trauma and their bond, I’d love that. I don’t imagine they continued their relationship into the present because of Arthur and Luke not being jealous of that, but I’d be really interested in how Arthur deals with their closeness regardless.

I love that Luke recovered, I am so happy he did! But for fic set after the series, I am not interested in healthy, functional Luke. I am more interested in how Ghost!Nell said she there is no gone and I would love anything that explores that. I would love it if Nell was kind of a comfort or by his side like Olivia was for Hugh and that Luke talks to her and she talks back. Or maybe Nell simply haunts him and there is a darker, messier dynamic. I would also be into an unhealthy descent into Luke getting addicted to her presence and losing sight of the living world. Ghost sex would be amazing, or if you want to break my heart, AU where Luke dies to be with Nell at the end, or a future fic where Luke goes back to the house to die so he can be with her forever. You can go as dark as you want for this fandom.

    Hell Or High Water (2016)
    Ship: Tanner Howard/Toby Howard

I adore this movie. I love its quiet melancholy and quite tragic tone, and the gorgeous cinematography, and lonely, desolate settings. And codependent criminal brothers who are just trying to get enough to make a life for themselves. I'd love anything that lets me relive all the feelings this movie gave me.

As for fic, backstory! I want fic about them growing up in an abusive household together, Tanner being protective, Tanner and Toby relying on each other to survive, or cope and that turning sexual. I’d love anything exploring Tanner killing their father and the aftermath of that, how Toby felt about it. First time fic for them would be lovely, maybe it’s their first time ever or they’ve tried stuff before. I’d love anything about them fooling around and sexually experimenting as teenagers, and that escalating to something more than just experimenting together. I also want fic about them together as adults, prior to the movie, them doing crime together, maybe something other than bank robbing, or Toby just trying to keep Tanner from getting into too much trouble. Or just them having to patch each other's wounds up! Or them having to share one bed in a hotel! Them trying not to act on their feelings as adults.

Incest guilt is great, incestuous pining is great. Tanner being amoral enough to not care about that would delight me and Toby being unexpectedly more into this than he thought would also be great. I’d love anything with Tanner being needier for Toby than he wants to be, his anger over Toby getting married while he isn't able to really form lasting connections with other people. Then Tanner being there to pick up the pieces after Toby's divorce.

I love how Tanner enjoys being impulsive and reckless, and his terrifying violent streak. I'd love to see other times when he indulged in doing something that he shouldn't have—beating someone up, scaring locals when he was supposed to lay low, and Toby having to deal and cope with that, and trying to rein in his brother. By that same token, anything with them both being violently protective of one another. I love it when Tanner kills people for hurting Toby and I love it when Toby goes from being quiet and unassuming to absolutely wailing on someone trying to hurt Tanner. Jealousy would be fun for these two! Such as, Tanner getting very jealous and angry when other women hit on Toby, and ushering him away, and trying to have him all to himself. Tanner being jealous, in general, and Toby annoyed by it.

I love Tanner's death and how he went out, probably in the only way he could have gone out, in the way he wanted to go out. I would love a look at their relationship as Toby grieves him, flashbacks and memories and maybe sleeping in his bed. On the flipside, Tanner lives AU! I would love if by some miracle, they both got away, save the ranch and find their own place together, with both of them waiting for the other shoe to drop eventually. Both of them quietly carving out a life together and being genuinely happy and not able to believe that it could happen to them, like this. Tanner and Toby growing old together.

    The Lost Boys (1987)
    Ship: Michael Emerson/Sam Emerson

I love this film—it has everything: 80s glam vampires, homoerotic subtext, humor, brothers. Michael/Sam has always been a ship of mine in a lowkey, kind of embarrassed because no one else seems interested way, but I have shipped it quietly on my own for quite some time and I’ve always wanted to ask for fic for them, so here we are! Michael is so overly touchy with his brother throughout the film's events, and it’s so casual that neither of them notice, such as sniffing him, leaning into his warm skin, being tempted to eat him. I’d love to see that played up and how much it bothers Sam and his conflict over how much it doesn’t.

I’d also love any pre-canon stuff set before the move to Santa Clarita. I'd love to see Sam pining and having terrible, inappropriate crush-like feelings on his older brother and trying to ignore them. I love how cranky Sam gets when Michael ignores him and focuses on girls and would love to see more of his younger sibling jealousy as his older brother starts to pay less attention to him and more towards others. Play up the bratty little brother angle.

I was kind of disappointed that Michael didn’t stay a vampire, so I’d love an AU where they kill Max, but Michael remains a half vampire. I'd love to see them handle the fallout of that, with Sam trying to protect Michael from the Frog brothers and trying to find a way to cure him, Michael becoming despondent and trying so hard not to eat people. I'm always down for vampires eating people, so I would totally love it if he failed and went full vampire, and having to deal with that mess, but a story of trying hard to resist drinking blood would also suit my id very much. I would love for an incestous relationship to evolve from those stressful circumstances— their relationship getting more codependent the more dire their circumstances become, and Sam getting more and more desperate the more he feels Michael drift away from humanity and from him. Maybe they just take off to keep their mom safe, with Michael originally just planning to leave himself, but Sam insists on going.

Or a Max wins AU, where he gets the happy vampire family he wanted, with vampire Sam. I'd prefer less of a focus on Max & David and the others, but I'm fine with vampire Lucy being a part of this AU. I also like the thought of Michael taking his brother and running in those circumstances as well. Or a simply a post-movie AU where Michael is a vampire and leaves to protect his family and Sam hunts him down. Maybe Sam is planning to kill him, but finds he can't do that, or maybe Sam just misses his brother. Feel free to make Sam whatever age works for you, whether its set only a few months after the movie, a year, or a decade. I love the thought of Sam aging so he looks physically older than Michael.

I am really into the idea of Michael turning Sam, for whatever reason—to save his life, or because he didn't want to be alone as a vampire, or by total accident. Speaking of accidents, I’d love any kind of blood sharing or Michael needing to feed off Sam for whatever reason, and it goes too far, or nothing happens, but Sam liked it and keeps offering himself up to be fed on. Really, I love all the ridiculous vampire tropes, so lean into that hard. I would also love it if you kept the kind of camp-y tone and had Sam try and figure out which vampire myths are true and fake, or trying to do experiments with Michael and his new powers, and Michael getting annoyed and getting suddenly scary. I’d love the drama of it all, how harmless brother antics get intense now.

I like Star a lot, so I'd rather she’d be written out for this request—maybe she goes back home and becomes human again, or maybe she is no longer interested in Michael once she learns about his incest feelings. Either works.

    Malevolent (2018)
    Ship: Angela Sayers/Jackson Sayers

This film is such a gem on Netflix. I watched it randomly, not really knowing what to expect and I really loved the spooky house ghost story that was actually a horrible murder story where the killers were still around. But really, I was here for the premise: CON ARTIST SIBLINGS. THAT ACTUALLY ARE PSYCHIC. I really love how uneasy their relationship is and how Jackson is kind of a dick sometimes, but you can tell he loves and leans on Angela to an absurd degree and he doesn’t want to stop what they’re doing. Angela is tired of this life, but she lets him put her in because they’re a team and they’re honestly the only two people who can truly understand one another.

I am dying for backstory fic for them. They have a deeply traumatic backstory and I want to know more about their lives growing up, how they clung to each other, what happened to their mother, what they went through with her and knowing they both have her power. I’d just love anything with them coping with their childhood trauma together, or coping badly, and feeling like they only have each other and that leading them to retreating into each other and physical intimacy happens. ANY first time you imagine would be great. I would also love to see them in denial of any incestous feelings, but maybe a job or a con pushes them towards each other in an uncomfortable way, like they have to pretend to be married or dating, if you want something tropey.

Anything with Angela being psychic and Jackson also having psychic feelings, too, but he represses them far more. I would love to know how they manifested and if they both saw things when they were kids, if they had shared nightmares, if they ran to each other to comfort one another.

I love how they’re con artists who are pretending to be psychic, but actually ARE psychic. I really want more of them being con artists and faking hauntings and psychic activity for money. I love them being criminals together and a team and for all their fighting, they can do this one thing together and it’s what keeps them together. I’d love anything exploring their us against the world dynamic, feeling like they're the only ones who can really understand each other, and sometimes not even then because of their differences. I would love the ins and outs of what they do, but also the close calls with real ghosts and spirits. I am a sucker for them pulling themselves back together and patching each other up, so go with that if you’d like.

The ending was everything to me, the ending killed me and hit me right in id place. I loved the twist that Jackson was actually dead, but Ghost!Jackson was there to protect and lead Angela to safety. I got chills when his shadow fell over her as she was talking to their granddad. So I would love anything post-movie, Ghost!Jackson following Angela around. Ghost!Jackson not knowing he's dead. Angela refusing to get rid of her brother or try to get rid of his spirit because she doesn't want him to rest in peace and is refusing to let him go. I would love an outsider perspective on this as well, such as their friends or her grandfather seeing her spiral into a kind of destructive codependency with her death brother, but not being able to stop it. Also: Ghost sex. Always ghost sex.

But if you want to write a fix-it fic, I would also love an AU where they both survive and have to deal with the trauma of what happened to them and they turn inward towards each other and become frighteningly codependent and obsessed with each other and being near to each other.

    Sharp Objects - Gillian Flynn
    Ship: Amma Crellin/Camille Preaker

First off, I have seen the HBO adaptation, and I adore it, so feel free to include anything from the series. I loved the atmosphere and Eliza Scalen was a revelation, so if you wanted to add more things from her performance into how you write Amma, please do.

I would really really love anything from the time period where Amma goes to live with Camille. I know that is a rocky time period and has its ups and downs, but Camille so desperately wanted to try and fix what had been done to Amma, and I love them during that time period because there’s so much hope they can get past this (until the gut punch). I'd love anything exploring their relationship at the end of the book and what happens afterwards—years down the line with Camille trying to take care of Amma, maybe after Amma faces some kind of jail time or a stay in a psych ward—I’d love Camille taking care of Amma out of guilt or desire for sister after the end, despite the awful things she’s done, and not emotionally prepared to handle Amma. I would love something that explores Camille coming to visit Amma at the detention center and staying in consistent contact with her, and hoping that she can maybe help rehabilitate her. I would also love to see future fic where Amma is released and how they deal with their relationship now that all the secrets have been revealed.

Or, alternatively, AU where Amma never gets caught or found out—Camille trying to awkwardly raise her but their relationship is already uncomfortable and twisted and Amma constantly jealous of Camille giving affection to anyone else, maybe seducing her first instead of trying to kill someone else. I love how needy Camille is for affection throughout the book and I’d love to see her either reject Amma and the fallout of that, or allow Amma to seduce her because she doesn’t want to lose her love. I’d also love an AU where Camille doesn’t turn Amma in and she takes Amma essentially on the run, even though there is no one actively looking for her, Camille is trying to keep her moving to keep her from killing other girls. Go as dark as you want, push Camille’s boundaries. I would love to see her trying to cover up when Amma slips and Amma trying to feign apology, but she is never sorry.

I view sexual dynamic as one-sided from Amma’s POV and I love how much of her emotions get tangled up in one enough and it twists how she feels. I would love Amma’s POV on Camille and her hero worship, but also resentment, but ultimately her intense fixation and possessiveness of her. I would love to explore what goes through her head when she looks at Camille. I’d just love anything with Amma’s POV throughout the book, her growing feelings for Camille and her developing an obsessive need for her big sister's attention and love. I'd also love to see more instances of Amma being “nice” to Camille in fucked up ways. Or more doing drugs together! And other inappropriate things Camille does with her very underage little sister when she's supposed to be the adult! Maybe making out on E goes further. That was my favorite scene in the book.

I'd love to read any kind of dubcon scenario, where Amma leverages herself against Camille—maybe doing the same sexual offering towards her, that she does to other boys and men in the book, or trying other seductive flirty things with her Camille. Amma constantly touching her big sister, Amma craving her touch and affection, Amma wanting to touch her scars and Camille letting her, or being reluctant to have her sister touch something so personal and private. I would love something that explores the idea that Camille gives Amma attention and affection to keep her from doing worse things, from hurting or killing other people. Or simply Camille pulling away from other people for their safety until Amma is the only one in her orbit.

I really want Amma carving her name on Camille's back, in that empty smooth space.

If you wanted to make Amma an actual monster, like werewolf or vampire, I would love to see how that plays out. Maybe Marian is really a ghost. This story is so haunting and Flynn has said it’s a dark modern fairytale that relies on fairy tale logic, so lean into that hard if you want.

NOTE: Generally, thirteen year olds having sex squicks me in fanfic, but the whole book runs on squick, so feel free to lean into those aspects, especially if Camille feels dirty and ashamed. Or if you wanna age Amma up a bit (I like how she seems more like an older teenager in the show), I'll be okay with that, too.

    Ship: Adelaide Wilson/Red

This movie! THIS MOVIE!!! Jordan Peele you absolute madman. I love how interwoven and interconnected the narrative pieces are—everything has a double meaning, quite literally. There is so much specific symbolism throughout the film, from Adelaide starting out in white and her clothes growing more red with blood, to the way her and Red are so interconnected that when she learned to dance, so did Red. I love the themes of doubles and mirrors, and how you’re not quite sure who is the “monster” or if there is a monster at all or if everyone is the monster. I am not sure how else to articulate my feelings because this film is just so much and means so much to me, both on the level of how it uses trauma to frame both Adelaide and Red’s narrative arcs. The trauma is born of the same event that informed the trajectory of the rest of their lives—Adelaide stealing her life and being terrified it would be taken away, and Red wanting the life she remembered back.

I would LOVE anything that explores the soulbond between Adelaide and Red—how far does it go? Do they feel each other’s pain? Can they hear each other’s thoughts? I would love anything that explores the limits of what that kind of connection has and how deep it goes. Their connection causes Red to follow a similar trajectory as Adelaide, but from what I understood, a lot of it was without a choice and I would love anything that explores the horror of not having control of your own life because the person that stole your life is making all the choices and you don’t have any. I really love how Red tells the story of her life through the framing of a fairy tale because of how young she was when she was taken below and so much of her plan is based around images she remembers from being in the world above. I would also love anything that explores how Adelaide grew up, having to learn how to talk, and with her knowing the truth of her existence. I would love, love if they shared dreams and there was a mental link that Adelaide tried to cut off, but couldn’t, so her fear is very real when they head back to the Santa Cruz boardwalk.

On the flipside, I would love, love, adore an AU where Adelaide takes Red with her and they grow up together and how that changes everything. I would love to see them as a united force who sees the other as a sister and a soulmate, and are creepily close in ways that no one explains. What happens is up to you, but I would love any kind of sexual exploration as they grew up and experimenting with each other, with a focus on how similar they are. If you want, you can figure out how Gabe happens when there’s two of them and their bond is so close. Would it finally cause friction and discord as it’s in their nature to live similar lives? There is no double of Gabe, except below, so is Gabe a breaking point? Or does Gabe never happened because they’re so single focused on one another?

And, yes, I do want porn. But I would like porn that focuses more on their emotional and mental connection, where they are drawn to each other at the same time they’re repulsed by each other and I am not sure how it would happen, but I would love anything exploring a sexual relationship between them. Maybe Red kidnaps Adelaide and Adelaide tries to seduce her to gain an upper hand or better treatment. Or maybe in the AU where they’re raised together, practicing dance leads to intense feelings. To be honest, I would love ANY kind of dancing together.

I would also like any AU of the ending of the movie where Red survives? Maybe Red kidnaps Adelaide and they go on kind of a fucked up, terrifying road trip through the new world that Red had created. Or maybe Adelaide decides to not kill her out of guilt and takes Red with her at the end—how does Red assimilate into their family? How does Adelaide explain her decision? Does she tell the truth? I would just love anything where Red survives and Adelaide has to deal with her for an extended period of time and confront what happened between them. But anything you could give me for this dynamic would just be simply amazing and I am sure i’ll be happy with whatever you choose to write!
